Well on Monday one more person is going to try to stick my new graft at my center. It only ran on one needle Friday because they messed up sticking the first one. Their excuse is why they can't stick me is because my graft is made out of a different material that they've never seen before, I'm not sure what material it is but they claim it's different then the norm. If this person doesn't get it on Monday that makes no one in my unit that can stick me without any issues.
I honestly don't think it's the graft that's the problem I think it's the person sticking it!
It has a nice bruit and thrill so I don't understand why they keep making up excuses.
I can't do my own canulation as I don't have any sight so that's out of the equasion
Ah well we'll see how it goes on Monday.

What are you, bionic or something? Your graft is made of a material they've never seen before? Now, that's a novel excuse. I don't know which is worse, incompetence or ignorance. They just made that up.

Um, they _are_ using sharp needles, aren't they?
Last year, about two months after they started using my new graft, a new tech was "plugging me in," and she got the arterial needle in quickly. Then she started the venous, which was a lot tougher. She pushed it in; it felt like it was coming up against a wall. After a few tries, I had an idea and asked,"are you using sharp needles? I have a graft." I had to say I had a graft several times before she checked; sure enough, blunt needle.
It was interesting the arterial needle went in so easily.

I will be switching from the graft I had to a fistula. My graft lasted me ten long soulful years. I miss it.

Jon I will check on that.
