Hello everybody yesterday morn i had surgery to place my pd cath there was some concern that my surgeon wud not b able to find a good spot as this wud b my 3rd cath well im happy 2 report that all went well had a fasntastic surgeon right b4 surgery he stopped by my room and asked if it was ok to say a prayer with me i knew right away i was in good hands my surgery went fine he had to do some digging just 2 make sure there wasnt 2 much scar tissue im so sore but itl b nice to get away from hemo doc wants 2wks healing time b4 my 1st pd and im waiting anxiously so thanx to all for the kind words n well wishes...later

I remember your posts about possible difficulties re scar tissue. I really hope this works out for you. Be sure and let us know when you get to start PD again, and tell us if everything is working OK. You've been through a lot!

wow what kind of doctor do you have that is okay with saying a prayer with you before the surgery? I am shocked.
I really hope this PD cath works for you, I just hate to see people go on hemo.

So glad to hear that went well for you. I was under the impression that if you had had abdominal surgery, you could not do PD, due to scar tissue. Am I completely misinformed here? Or having another senior moment?

That's a bit like when I flew on Pakistan Airways. Instead of the usual safety announcements such as how to put on a life jacket, we had a video of a prayer by an ayatollah.

If I saw my surgeon praying before operating on me, that would make me very nervous. ;D
