Sad day ..because the horse i sold to my friend about 8 years ago , had to be put to sleep this morning. :'(
Happy day ..because my house move got approved today ..yes i did all the work ..phew ! and i should get the keys to my new house next week !
Happy Day ..been to see the neurologist this afternoon and straight away he knew what was causing the pain in my eye!
Sad Day ..there is no cure! It bone degeneration in my neck , which in turn is affecting the nerves in my neck which travel over the top of my head to my eye. His solution , he has given me Amoltriptyline to take and suggests Indian head massages ..great except hardly anyone does them and secondly the expense ! He agrees the lights and beds at dialysis are not helping but no one there gives a s**t !

Ah, the ups and downs of life. I'm thrilled that all of the effort you put into getting your house move approved finally has pain off! You deserve some good news. I'm sorry to hear about the cause of your eye pain but am glad that it isn't even worse news. Do you think you will go the head massage route? I know it is an expense, but if it makes your life more bearable, it may be worth it. Long ago, I took my autistic son to a licensed cranial massage therapist (I can't think of the specialty), and it seemed to help him.
Cranial osteopathy...that's it.

Congrats Kickstart on finally getting your house. ( I've followed your thread about it and wondered if anything had come about.) Sorry though to hear about your horse, that is sad that that had to happen.
I do have a question about your eye condition. Can you either wear a sleep mask while in treatment or ask them to dim the lights after everyone is hooked up?Maybe a neck pillow would help alleviate the pain and discomfort in your neck?

Thanks ..no i dont wear an eye mask as i dont sleep at dialysis , its way to noisey for that ! I ask them to put the lights directly above me out ..which they will but it takes them an hour or more to do it , by then the damage is done. The thing is we have a side room where i can sit with the lights off but they dont take my eye complaint seriously so they hardly ever put me in there ! Neck pillows heat/cold pads , ive tried them all, the pain is from the bones so nothing helps.

Kick, maybe if you could get a letter from your Neph, they would pay some attention to you about the lights.

exactly what I was going to suggest. Now that you have a documented diagnosis/cause they really should be more understanding and supportive of you. I would get that doc who has diagnosed this to write a letter to your neph/the renal unit explaining your condition and that the lights etc exaserbate(spelling?) the condition and that for your comfort and well being it would be best if the lights could be off, and even ideal to be in the little room if possible. They might listen to a doctor?!?!!
It can't hurt anyway.
I'm sorry there's no cure though :( Still it might help a little that you actually have a concrete reason for it.
