I am so excited! One of my patients that is blind has been taking some kind of medicine that is said to restore eye sight and regain kidney function. Of course I didn't want him or me to get our hopes up but didn't want to be totally negative either. However, yesterday at treatment I watched him from across the unit wiggling his fingers in front of his face!
I asked what he was doing and he said that he could make out the movements and shadows from the lights!! He hasn't been ab;e to do that in years! I'm so excited for him. Hopefully it keeps improving. I don't know if it has improved his kidneys yet, but labs will be done next week. :yahoo;

So I asked my blind patient how things were going today with his sight. He said that he has flashes of things he can see. Shadowed of course. He is taking Ambrotose by Mannatech. I haven't done any research on it but he seems to be doing well while taking it.
Doctors and the nurses haven't said anything negative about him taking them. It may be something looking into.
I will keep you all posted with any changes and updates.
