Hi all, I am looking for a bit of help or advice. I am in the middle of starting a renal family camp for patients in my home town. We have a resort chosen and funs through our local Lions club , the resort has enough power clean running water and the entire resort was built wheelchair accessible. Right down to the dock there is a wheel chair ramp. Any way this camp is for dialysis patients and there family’s, promoting the outdoors and family togetherness. As this disease does not just affect one person but all, child spouse and so on.
We are trying to come up with poster slogans, lititure for a free three nights stay for renal patients and there family’s at the resort..
I was thinking along the lines of doing dialysis to live, Not live to do dialysis.
I know it has been used often for other slogans though. It would be much appreciated for any thoughts for lititure for our poster.
Even better news we got the call, wife transplant may happen in May or June we will see, we have a meeting with the Doctor April 21!!!!!
Thanks Gauge

With hemo schedules, are the hemo patients going to be able to stay for 3 nights? Are they going to be able to get treatment locally?
Do you have a name for the retreat or the resort? Camp Nody? (NO D!)

We will have transportaion to our local renal unit for hemo, Hospital is only 40 mins away. It will be called the Lions club renal family week at wilderness discovery resort.
It is for northern Ontario residents around my home town.
Any ideas for slogans??

Uhhh. .. the only thing coming to mind right now is "Kidneys Optional Camping" like the "Clothing Optional" campgrounds you used to see advertised all the time in the 70's. Maybe not so good for a Lion's Club program...but funny! ;D
If I come up with anything more appropriate, I'll post it!

I think what you are doing is a great idea. Slogans, hmmmm. Many of our members have great sayings on their home page, such as Zach, living a life, not an apology. And many more. Or are you looking more for a name for the gathering? Kidney Kare Kamp?
Kidney Family Kamp? Give us a few days, we will come up with more. There are so many smart and clever people here.

Gauge, I'm familiar with Camp Dorset in Ontario, also run with funds from the Lions Club and I think some money from the Kidney Foundation. It's a fantastic service for dialysis patients AND their families and I knew one of the nurses who used to go there to help out. It's a bit different since dialysis is provided on site and people usually gp for a week.
I'll put my thinking cap on for slogan ideas and get back to you...I'm thinking adventure and challenges and overcoming, all in there together somehow.
Overcoming Challenges for Fun and Adventure....Kidneys Optional!
