Picture the Bollywood production of the BeeGee's story. My Neph's new assistant would have the leading role. In clothes, in looks, in hairstyle. It's amazing.
He came by Thursday during my session and introduced himself. He spent some time with me explaining that my kidney's failing was my fault, my tough times in dialysis are basically my fault, if I die, well, its my fault. It turns out that every bad thing in my life is my fault, and God is punishing me by destroying my kidneys. Gives me a whole new look on life.
Turns out I have to get a transplant. I had the foolish notion that it was up to me to choose, but apparently I am wrong. He insinuated but did not say outright that if I dont get a transplant, dialysis will probably kill me. And I better hurry up and get it now before its too late.
I have been feeling pretty good lately but after speaking with this guy for 30 minutes, I feel like I have been kicked in the guts.

So he's offered you one of his precious beans I suppose...since he's so concerned. Sounds like a twit. If you'd clocked him one that would definitely have been HIS fault after what you describe.

We are a captive audience to some of these people in power. I am stuck in that darn chair and have to sit there and listen to what ever nonsense they choose to spout, or risk being labeled "non-compliant". I am basically not an agressive personaltiy, but one of these days I may go off and be really non-complaint and somebody's rear end.

You can fake a seizure! People leave pretty quick.
-
Your story reminds me of a woman who as a guest of one of the other patients. She was lingering around my chair, said hello, and then proceeded to ask, "What did you do?"
"What do you mean?"
"Obviously you did something to offend God or you wouldn't be here."
First year I was still Naive Stacy, nowhere near as sarcastic or biting as I am now, so I simply put my headphones back on and returned my attention to my movie.
If that happened today? Lets just say Curmudgeon Stacy would have something to say.
The only one who should be judging your life is you. Everyone else be damned.

He sounds so charming............. :sarcasm;
I am just amazed he would talk to you like that. One of the nursing supervisors at work said to me right after my transplant "It is good you got a kidney, but the drugs you have to take are going to kill you." Such an inspirational message. :stressed;

This disease is bad enough without having to deal with idiots or religious zealots. I don't know, Bub. I couldn't hold my tongue. Stuff him. Tell him you've communicated his opinions to God and the big fella is unhappy with HIM. Then start drooling and muttering in tongues.

Words to Live by Galvo........ :yahoo;

It must be pretty amazing to be able to know what God is thinking. Your neph's assistant is in the wrong line of business. He should be Pope, perhaps.
-
But guys the worst part is that I had to pay $90 for his wisdom. He charges $600 but my insurance doesnt cover the last $90, At those fees I am going to start refusing to talk to the doctors when they come over.
-
I would refuse that too! I'll tell you for free that you are wonderful, have a great sense of humor, and we love you.
-
Golly gee Romona, you have me blushing.
-
OMG! What an idiot!! God loves you -- we love you -- everyone loves you and we all hate the stupid doctor!! I won't for a minute think that any of us did anything that bad that God has to punish us with kidney failure. Our fault?? Gheeezzz!!! Just hit him next time :Kit n Stik; :rofl; :rofl;

My neph is a personable, likeable guy but he seems overwhelmed with patients
and is generally so non directive that I have no direction.
Here in FLA unless you are very well off financially, which I am not, it's basically
hurry up and die. Of course they don't tell you that to your face.
You are an unwanted burden, a leach on the system.
We face discrimination, isolation, and incompetence at every turn.
I find it unethical and theologically incorrect for anyone to blame someone's kidney failure
purely on themselves with the attitude that God is punishing you/us.
This isn't the CHANGE and REFORM some of us voted for and desperately sought.
10 years later still not on the Transplant list and not sure how I'd really make out
with one, two, or three.
