Now we don't know what to do.Today at dialysis there were only 4 patients,it's a 12 chair facility.Mom and I have been seriously considering NxStage instead of in center.Now since 3 of our Tues,Thurs,Sat patients have switched days,we have been told that "If one more patient leaves,we will have to close down the facility on those days".WHY NOW ?We were told that if we had problems on home D that we could return to this facility. Funny but none of this sh*t started going on until we told them we thought of doing home hemo.We had been told by everyone ( except the facility manager) that home D would be a good choice for us.They're making us feel like it would be our fault if they had to close.Now the manager is being all nicey nicey to us and treating us like she cares.Give Me A Break!!!She has been a pain in the butt from the very beginning. One example is:Recently we had a minor snowstorm that left us running behind .I had mom call to let them know that we had to dig out of our driveway before we could make it in.I said we'd probably be 10-15 minutes late.We made it out and were only 5 minutes late.When we get there,everyone is sitting in their cars.It turns out we had to sit in our cars for 1 hour until the manager got off her butt and got down there.She didn't have any snow,her problem was that her power "blinked" and shut off her alarm clock so she slept through for another hour.This is not the first time something like this has happened! She has run late before and then makes everyone cut their treatment times.Most of those that were on our days cannot afford to cut their treatment times especially coming off of a weekend. No one has called the "Compliance Line" because they have been afraid of retaliation.Believe me I've asked a couple of people.

I think you really need to make your decision based on what is best for you and your Mom...not the facility at all, no matter what they do. How close is the next closest center? Cutting treatment times due to a manager's lateness ought to be reported...is the compliance line not anonymous?....How about your Mom's nephrologist? Or does he own the clinic?
I'd be fuming for sure. :cuddle;

Our next nearest center is actually 9 miles from our home,but has a long waiting list.That's where we'd go for our training for NxStage.The next nearest clinic is 24 miles away. As for the nephrologist,she has no power at our clinic.Mom had the same neph for 3 years and then he decided to work on the transplant team.So,he brought in his replacement.Not too many patients like her because she talks, but doesn't listen.The only alternative to her is to switch days,but now every chair ( both shifts ) are full.It's like we're just :banghead; :banghead;

I'd deffinately see if I could switch doctors, centers or something. Cutting treatments do to the FA being late needs to be reported. Don't worry about what might happen in regards to that, it's your moms life and every patients life so something like that needs to be reported, it's not safe.

:shy; So sorry all.Forgot to mention that mom refused to cut her time.Only one patient did because he runs over 4 hours.He only cut time by 20 minutes. We're definately looking into switching days or centers.Don't know what we'll do just yet.
