Title: thought renagel was being discontinued?

I thought renagel was being discontinued with Renvela? I heard it was going to be Sept 31 of 09, but I'm still getting renagel when I request a refill. Did the date get moved or are they slowly faiding it out?

I am wondering now if that is why we have been changed to Phosex. We are in the Uk. Any reason why they are fading it out?

I just started taking Renavel because the clinic prescribed it.  Apparently its cheaper for everyone, but works just the same.  I haven't had a new blood test since being changed over, so we'll see if that's true.

Taking a pill every time I eat has worried me ever since I started Dialysis six years ago.  Every medication has side effects that get worse with continued use.

Imagine they still have plenty of Renagel in the system and pharmacies will continue to use until there is no more.

Early last year my Part D plan suggested to make the switch to Renvela because they were told Renagel was being discontinued.

The new one for us was $825 for 1 month.  But we now have Medicare Part D.  I think it will be $137.  OR maybe $34.  I can't remember which plan I chose...
