Title: mother in law being tested
Post by: lou on February 02, 2010, 03:59:49 AM
Am sitting at home waiting for my boyfriends mum - she is due here in 10 minutes. Last week she offered to be tested for me and we are heading up to the hospital this afternoon for the first test. Feel pretty nervous but have been here so many times before (5 donors turned down) so really cant get my hopes up again.

She is not really my mother in law but I have been with Shawn for 8 years now and we are not interested in marriage so I guess she is as close to a mother in law as I will ever have!!

Has anyone else out their had a partners mum/dad been tested. Feel a little bit weird about it but she offered and I guess feel more grateful than anything else.

Will let you know how it goes... love to everyone

I have been married 17 years and my mother-in-law ( the best one in the World) offered to be tested but was denied for a bad crossmatch. She was devastated. I had already had several possible donors denied and had not gotten my hopes up just yet so I was fine. Stay positive ....I had 6 donors turned down before my transplant. Keep the Faith!
