today when I went to get my blood test results from Thurs. 11/2
I was told the box containing Thurs. specimens was lost...............
so had to get bloodtest redone. grrrrrrrrr
was a wasted trip thurs. except for iron iv injection.
isn't that rather scary???
already anemic and had to give more blood...

What the heck did they do with it? We're talking bodily fluid here, in little glass vials, not a piece of paper - where would you "lose" that, exactly?
Yeesh!

I'd make them wait until next month. You did your part!

I would give the blood again. The small amount you lose from the blood samples against the knowledge of the results is more important, but a concern on the administration of missing blood samples is a concern.
If you want to lose as less blood as possible then take an extra 100 mls of fluid off during dialysis and have an extended washback.

OB, I had that happen to me a couple of months ago and they 'lost' 1/2 of my blood tubes and all of another patients. My guess is that someone broke the vials and did not want to admit it so just said they got lost.

I was in the ER one evening and someone from the lab came up to me and says "I have to draw blood again." "Huh??? Wait a minute you people have your blood. says I. "Oh someone broke the vials in the centrifuge." It had taken three tries to get the first sample of blood. They sent someone who could stick me the second time around!
