Hi, I'm sort of a newbie here (but been reading forums for awhile now) (will fill intro to me soon...honest). I had a fistula placed in the elbow in Jan 2009 and it has matured into a "turbo-charged" fistula (according to Neph)......but the d@@m thing hurts like crazy whenever I move my arm or even if I dont move it. It's like the vein is being pulled over, towards the artery. My Neph says exercise it.....hmm how big does he want it, already looks like I have a line of aa batteries up my arm, my gp wanted to inject cortezone (spelling) into my shoulder, as he thinks its a frozen shoulder....but Neph wants to check it first :stressed;
Now the thing is, they may be using it soon, as Neph reckoned I would start Hemo end of Jan and I am a bit worried about it, for if it hurts without moving, whats it going to be like when they start treating it like a dartboard ?

dear xbandito, don`t worry about it. Won't help. Your neph will probably make a fistilagram (utrasound) to see if all is ok. It won`t be used till it is ok (I would think) I have mine now for a long time and sometimes it hurts, and that could be because you`v used yr arm or something. Make sure you don't sleep on it though. Is it inflamed?

Hi Cas, Not really worried about it, it's annoying me, for I could be sitting there watching tv and the thing will hurt like someone has just stabbed me. Thats another annoying thing.....not being allowed to put it under the pillow...but unless I have done it in my sleep, I have not done so. Nope, not inflamed, it's been there since Jan 2009, all nicely healed and looks like a row of AA batteries curved up my arm
