Title: What about this wearable artificial kidney?
Post by: hurlock1 on January 14, 2010, 04:16:46 PM
I heard it mentioned the other day at dialysis. I tried to find out about it today on th' innernet. It seems that there IS something in the works and because either I'm to dumb or impatient to read the whole article I didn't get what they were saying. The picture of the device looks a little rudimentary. I guess I could just man up and read the articles but I don;t really see it coming anytime soon. Does anybody know anything about it?

I don't think it's going to be ready any time soon. It has not been tested in clinical trials. It is designed for PD patients.

Like I said, I didn't have the patience to wade through the article, but I figured it was something like that. The hemo machine is so big and requires so much help, it doesn't make sense that they could make something like that portable. Oh well.
