FYI: This foundation provides fitness and educational grants to dialysis
patients. They have given 26 grants to both adults and children
in 7 different states. The foundation is a non profit organization
and has its 501c3 status.

Valuable information. Thanks

Great resource, and an inspiring story as well. Just knowing that a dialysis patient can
reach that level of fitness is a huge boost. Exercise and fitness is SOOO important for
us, and so often a struggle. Rolemodels that show we can be physically active, and not
just shuffling in and out of dialysis units, are so important. I just recently signed up for
a "Heart Walk" challenge at my gym. I go to a facility that is connected to the hospital
system here in SW Florida. They have such a wide range of members, many elderly or
recovering from accident or illness, or with chronic illnesses. They often offer challenges
that are absolutely completable by people with varying levels of fitness. They might not
be triathalons, but participating in these challenges gives a great sense of accomplishment.

Maybe they would help me go back for my Master's degree in Special Education.
