hey
i just read about home hemodialysis(NXSTAGE) from one of IHD topics,
here in lebanon i don't have that option, i really may chosen this option if i knew about it, 2.5 hours a day, it would be great
although i am on manual PD, and it's pretty fast (20 min for every change) but i must do it every 6 hours, i can't go for long trips or stay away for a whole day
any ideas how to switch or comparaison between PD and home hemo?

We don't have the portable nxstage here either. So PD is definitely easier if you want to travel. You can just take your bags with you if you want to go away. I do PD and I go away all the time. In Lebanon will they deliver bags somewhere for you if you want to go away for more than a few days?

what are your travel concerns. I had to travel once while i was doing manuals, we carried a cooler w a heating pad in it to keep the solution warm. Thats what my D nurses told me to do. I didn't care for it. But i also learned during that trip that u could microwave the bag. Just make sure it is not so hot that it will burn you and make sure the heat is distributed evenly.
Hope that helps some

hey
thanks for the reply
i know i can manage to do manual exchange everywhere, and already did it manytimes, and still doing it in university.
but my concern is to search for the ultimate dialysis, knowing abt home hemo as easy as they say, was a surprise,
until now, manual is the best for me.
