At the center ,we get our blood work every 4 weeks. How often do you get blood work done?
I am in U.S.
Noticed that another poster ,in another thread,mentioned quarterly blood work. That seems a little long between tests.
-
I get blood work drawn every 4 weeks as well, Since starting dialysis. And i see my neph a week after the blood work is drawn at the clinic. (saves me $50 from going to his office :thumbup;)..
Prior to starting dialysis i got blood work drawn every 3 months or quarterly. As the time grew closer the blood labs were more often.

In the UK every 4 weeks.
-
I get mine monthly then see the doc the following week. (Toledo, OH)

Once a month before I go see the doctor. Maybe that someone else you mentioned is not as sick as others. We have a man who has been coming to our renal support group and he only gets tested once a year. He's held onto a steady 30 something GFR for 4 years. We're all different.
-
When I was first diagnosed in 2003, every six months.
Now it's once a month. Dialysis due to start any month, but I'm holding steady for the time being.
-
Every 4 weeks in my part of Oz, but I won't be seeing the Neph for 3 months.
-
For home hemo, every four weeks. (Just after clinic day, which we find a bit weird.) But more often (usually every two weeks) if something is out of whack.
We've had a lot of phosphorus and PTH and hemo retests. :(

It seems at my center they are always taking blood for some reason or another. Hematocrit, Potassium, phosphorous. I call them vampires!
-
I get my blood work drawn once a month, on the 12th of the month (or whichever day closest to the 12th I get dialysis).
-
Depends on the type of blood work.
monthly for transplant, they send it straight off to the red cross who do our matching and 3 months for full blood counts as we see the Dr every 3 months but that varies it's been on average 1.5-2 months since pd started to fail but normally every 3 months

It is like that for me too. But the main "labs" draw is once a month. The one they give a copy of and go over with me.

Whever Mum attends the Out Patient PD Clinic...
Every two months now that she's a bit more stable!...
-
Once a month in the beginning of every month. However sometimes the nurses forget to go over it with me as I have to ask. So far my blood results are good (praise God!) :bow;
-
Once a month I get full blood count done, once every 3 month fbc and pot/phos/iron levels, once a year all those and a few more - don't really know what for.

They do major bloodwork once a month, then in the middle of the month they do some sort of partial blood work; potassium, Phosphorus and something else, and every January, they do some sort of super blood work and they test for cholestoral, Some sort of super blood sugar test and some other stuff. Thay be testin' my blood jus all over the place. I don't know if they over test or if they test just enough. BUT! my numbers are good. For the most part I seem healthy (except for that little episode last week. Every time the tests come back the dietitian comes and talks to me, which is a real hi-light because she's not only pretty but she's real encouraging. The one before was a real bitch.

Hubby is on nocturnal home hemo and he does blood work every month. We call his dialysis nurse the next day to get the results. We always keep a copy of the results for ourselves.

You'll have no blood left soon...... do you sneak a peice of fruit before the tests so that they'll send the dietitan to you? :rofl;

Tee he he!!! Right?!?!?! MM does blood work every 2 weeks and sometimes every week. I thought -- he's going to have to have more EPO and Iron for all the blood loss!!!
Reading this I have high hopes that we will start monthly after he stabilizes. We always get a copy of our blood work and are familiar with all the values. We question any anomalies.

Same thing for me except the episode and bitch parts.
