Title: Needling
Post by: murf on December 24, 2009, 01:58:31 PM
About four months ago, I was told to shift to a new centre. The nurses border on incompetence and they just simply can't needle. I have tried emla cream and local anesthetic but it hurts whenever the needles go in. Did not have this problem at the other place. They leave scars up and down the arm and yesterday, had to have a HP needle. Simple needle in the shoulder but have left a bruise the size of a small apricot. Thank God I'm shifting to PD.

That's horrible. I've started paying attention to people being needled around me (I've still got the catheter) and it doesn't appear to bother anyone. The sooner you shift to PD the better, mate. Sod the lot of 'em, have a Merry Christmas.!!!!!!!!!!!!!
