Ok I have been watching my fluid intake and I am doing much better with fluids.... always thirsty but at least when I go to D they dont have to take of any more than 2K or less...... still have some cramps but I am working on dry weight issue and that is another story....... When I get home I drink around 4 oz after D and I keep getting cramps in and around my stomach and back area..... as my stomach is processing and growling from the fluid that I drank my cramps are happing again...... Am I getting cramps because I am drinking and putting fluid back in the system .... I dont know why I am getting cramps in my back and stomach area..... just bending and doing things around the house is giving me cramps after I eat and drink..... what a deal......

That darn dry weight issue. I also cramp there when they take off too much fluid. I have started drinking tonic water and that seems to help some.

If you are only having 2 L gains between sessions, they really need to up your dry weight again. Even a little bump can make a difference - .2 or .3.
It's bad enough getting thru needle sticks. You don't need pain at home, too!

Did you ever have peritonitis by any chance? Or extensive abdominal surgery?

Sounds like your dry weight on paper is lower than your real dry weight.
The cramps sound like they may be caused by being dehydrated since it is occurring after dialysis? You may need to raise your dry weight some?
Dry weights are suppose to be the weight without excess fluid. Since its not exact, often dry weights on paper can have people in the initial stages of dehydration.
In other words you one could have a dry weight that actually puts them 2% below their true dry weight and they still would be able to take off another 3% before experiencing symptoms of moderate dehydration. (cramping, headaches, low blood pressure etc etc)

how's your BP at the end of D? normal? low? high? if it's higher than normal that could be another indication that you're too dry and need the dry weight upped. Get them to run a crit line and do a BVM on you to get a better idea of where you're at fluid wise.

When they have taken too much off me, that is when my dry weight needed to be raised, my blood pressure was too low at end of treatment.

Blood pressure has been only lowering down to 105 or so / usually in the 70 sometime 60 but not less than 65.... but I dont go in very high either...... I am going to have them run a crit line tonight and take a look.... I am getting tired of the cramps...
funny just this morning I drank one cup of coffee and eat small bowl of oat meal..... then I started to cramp and had to waist time going in a laying down.... it took two hours to get over the whole bad feeling.... muscles are so painfull, cramps and a feeling of tingleling through the whole body......
I dont think this dialysis is working for me... I am not like this .... I am in some pain all the time.... It hard for me to walk up stairs, or down stairs, or to get in and out of the chair..... Feels best to just stand......
I hope this gets better..... I hate to complain and I hate to be sick..... I have no time for either...

tyefly a blood pressure of 105/65 is a bit low. My husband would not be feeling well if his b/p was that low!! Get them to up your dry weight to see if that helps.

Stomach and back area? It could be something totally unrelated to kidney disease. We get used to the neph specialists to taking care of all of our needs and for whatever reason some other problem can go completely un-noticed.

Yes cramps in the abdomen area is not fun.... but it only happens at D.... I have never had them before... usually I would get cramps only in the legs, feet area.....after taking lasix before I started D...... last night at D I started just getting muscle twitching in my abdomen area and I had them turn the machine down to pull almost nothing.... I was set to pull off 2.1K and by the time I started to get the twitches the machine said it had pulled 1.9k off already..... my cramps are always the last half an hour before I am do to get off..... so I really believe that my abdomen cramps are because I am very close to my dry weight... Funny to feel the beginnings of cramps....its like having a baby inside you and the baby is moving..... you can see you stomach area moving on its own.....strange.... I have also been having problems with constipation... seems like after D my feces is very dry. I think they are sucking every drop out of me.... I am thirsty when I get home and when I do drink water it seems like I get cramps after I drink..... I don't drink much cause I don't want more cramps.... just a sip or so.... I think my body is really not use to this fluid removal... I can see how all of this is so hard on the body....... I am still pretty new to this D and I am still learning how fragile and remarkable our bodies are.....
