Hi all,
Have been on PD since 3/2005.
Just had my first bout with peritonitis. Wasn't as bad as I had been led to believe, and with one dose of the antibiotics that I was given when I started PD, it was all over.
I did go to the ER and they kept me overnight, but that was mainly cause my husband was out of town and I didn't want to take a chance on driving with all the pain meds in me.

Hello Kay and welcome to the board. Free feel to vent your frustrations as often as you wish that is what is site is here for. ;)
This site is unlike other sites where posts are modified or deleted by site moderators for having content that is too harsh. If you ask a question you WILL get the straight truth from either myself or one of our members. This is a no holds barred forum.
Again welcome to the site and please tell fellow patients about this site.

Hey... Sacramento. An hour and a half north east of SF. Do you see docs in SF? I've heard they are really good. The ones in Sacramento suck.

My Dr. is pretty knowledgeable, although she sometimes drives me crazy. i think she suffers from AHD (or ADHD) whichever the adult form is. But, when it comes to medicine she knows what she's doing. To tell you the truth I loved my former Nephrologist a whole lot. But, with this insurance changes, I had to switch to an HMO, because the PPO was way too expensive. So with this HMO I had to sign up with a "medical group" and can only see doctors in that group or it's an out of pocket expense. (man Nephs charge up to $300.00/ visit).
My dialysis adequacy is great, so yes my Dr. is doing a great job following my case.
