Now you are all going to think I'm nuts but I actually can't wait to start dialysis!! I can't take it anymore. I feel so run down, my mind wants to do stuff but my body just won't let it.
Even through my brain wants’ me to do stuff, I am having the worst time with memory and processing information when people are speaking to me. I just feel like I'm off in another world. When I speak, I sometimes say a few words and then can't remember what I was going to say. I know people say they do that all the time, but this is really different!
I have really come a long way from when I first came here. I'm very happy for all the support that "almost" everyone has given me. Sorry to put you through that but I think the majority of you have been there yourself.
Even though it took me this long to get this far, I still stand by my decision for holding out until "I" was ready. I knew I would not let myself get deathly ill but everyone did scare me into thinking that what if all of a sudden I got sick. But now I "feel" that the time has come and I still can't believe I'm looking forward to it. I JUST WANT TO BE NORMAL AGAIN!!!!!

That's great Goofy. You sure have come a long way! :bandance;
:cuddle; I hope it helps you feel more like yourself.
I have memory lapses and spaced-out days and I am not ESRD - LOL - no hope for me! :oops;

We'll all be with you on the 30th Goofy. So glad you're in the right space now - and you will feel better soon, and things will seem so much better then!
-
Good on ya!
-
Good for you for facing your fears! The first couple of weeks will be tough, but after you get into the groove, you will have more energy and mental clarity - especially on non-dialysis days.
-
Goofy's doing Pd - no 'non dialysis days' for her! But definitely the feeling better bit, and no fluid restrictions yay.
-
Good for you Goofy...I'll be thinking of you and wishing you a "feel better" wish!
-
HEY Looneytunes!!! Howdy to you!
Goofy I am proud of you. I know exactly what you mean too because my husband says he feels just like you do. He is starting dialysis on the 30th as well.
Here's to better days for you! :cheer:

So glad you are coming to terms with it goofy. The first couple of weeks might be tough but when you get into the routine and start to feel better you will be so glad you started.

Goofy, It's took you a long while, you will be fine, don't worry about it. Ok its scary to start with but you will soon get into the swing.
-
I can't wait either! My GFR is 18... and I'm already feeling sick (although I have pretty good days still, but overall I know I'm getting worse). Of course, I'm hoping to wait until after Christmas (it's hectic enough already). But you have to do what you have to do- I'll start before Christmas if I need to (and who knows- maybe my GFR will hold until my living donor transplant... OK maybe not, but I love wishful thinking!)
-
renalpenguin, your GFR sounds quite good as things go. My husbands was down to 5 before he went on to CAPD.You and your doc will know when it is time. Think lucky.

The year before I started Dialysis, was the worst in my life. I gained a ton of weight, I had NO energy, my breath stunk, I had a million scabs from scratching myself half crazy. I forgot conversations instantly. I never had sex. My hair even sucked! So I am with you goofy, dialysis sucks, but being that suck sucks more... good luck bud, you will be fine and you have all of our ears and eyes to tell you are not feeling so fine :)

Hi Goofy,
How are you feeling? :cuddle;
-
I'm doing great!! I can't beleive how "uncomplicated" PD is. I'm very lucky right now because I am able to only do 8 hours. If I end up doing 10, I won't be very happy but at least I accept it now.
I can't say enough how glad I am that I held out like I did. I finaly got to the the "place" where I reaized it was time. If I hadn't waited until I was ready, I really think I would have resented the fact that I have to d it. Thanks for asking!!
-
:2thumbsup; Great!!

That's great Goofy, I know you will start to feel much better soon and you will be glad you got started.
