Woke up this morning and just didn't feel to hot! I am fatigued, achy, and dizzy, etc. I have work today from 5-11pm. I had my flu shot so hopefully this is just a normal kinda sick! I knew that guy who was hacking into a cup would make some of us sick last night at treatment! Grrrrrrr.
-
Oh I hope this is something that passes quickly. When I had my flu shot I was told that it wouldn't be effective for about 2 weeks. Take extra good care of yourself. Me too, I hope for your sake it's a "normal kinda sick LOL.
-
If you had the regular flu shot, you could still be coming down with H1N1 flu.
Monitor your temperature closely.
-
Yikes! I hope you're feeling a little better today. Take care of yourself.
-
Hopefully it's not the flu and will pass quickly. Feel better!

:puke; Woke up this morning with the chills, and threw up. My throat is sore and I ache all over! I took some dayquil and my temp has gone down!. Hopefully this is a mild case of the flu. I am so happy they found a replacement for me at work tonight! No way I would be coming in.

Can you get some tamiflu Karen? people say it really works.

Be careful not to get dehydrated. My daughter, Sarah ended up in the hospital many times to get IV fluids because she was dehydrated. It seems she caught everything that went around.
Dehydrated causes alot of havoc with blood value results. When you have a transplant it appears a person is rejecting.
The Dr's in our area are recommending people to take Thera Flu for the flu. Actually I would ask your Dr. what medication to take. Beings you are on dialysis alot of these medications can cause your blood pressure to rise, if I remember right.

Hope you are feeling better.
Eat some chicken soup!

No. Not this time.
The CDC and the World Health Organisation have announced that strains of H1N1 that are resistant to Tamiflu have now popped up. Some 11% of H1N1 flu cases are resistant to Tamiflu now.
They recommend trying Relenza instead, either alone or in combination with Tamiflu.
-
I also have come down with the bug. My son came home from school with a cough and left it with me when he left. The dr. does not know what flu or cold it is so we wait untill I get really sick, then he will treat it. He did give me some cough syrup and tylenol.

Hope everybody feels better soon!!! So far we have avoided it. Kids at my school and some staff had H1N1 but I didn't catch it. I've used lots of antiseptic wipes and have washed my hands and used sanitizer so much that my hands are really sore. Hubby had his vaccine about 2 weeks ago and I had one today.

Are you feeling better?

This isn't correct. Scroll about half way down the Weekly FluView (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/) for the latest update.
As of yesterday:
"Antiviral treatment with oseltamivir or zanamivir is recommended for all patients with confirmed or suspected influenza virus infection who are hospitalized or who are at higher risk for influenza complications. Additional information on antiviral recommendations for treatment and chemoprophylaxis of influenza virus infection is available at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/recommendations.htm (http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/recommendations.htm).
...
Just .3% (3 out of 1,076 samples tested) showed resistance to Tamiflu (Oseltamivir) "by a neuraminidase inhibition assay and/or detection of genetic sequence mutation".
If you have CKD then you are at increased risk of severe disease. The CDC recommends that you receive Tamiflu if you have the symptoms of the flu, without having to wait for any test results.
