Title: Winning the Battle
Post by: Bub on November 06, 2009, 10:58:02 AM
I can indeed control my fluid intake if I try. My Thursday dialysis session I had an 8 kilo load, but had actually only gained 2 kilos since Tuesday.  The rest is just me trying to dig myself out of this hole I have dug for myself.  My next session is Saturday and I should be my dry weight for the first time in several weeks!

My session Thursday was actually horrible and I plan to rant about it another  time, but for now I am just happy to be headed back in the right direction.   I am feeling much better both physically and emotionally.  As long as I can keep it 2 or 3 kilo's between sessions, I will be fine.

Good job.  Did you try the tonic water for cramps.  I just take a couple of swigs before I hit dialysis.

great news Bub!!! I think having a lot of that extra fluid off you will really help you to feel a bit better.

2-3kilos between sessions is the recommended amount.. if you can keep that up it's great... and you know how horrible it can be for you when you get well over so hopefully that will be good incentive to keep up the good work.

Really pleased to hear this!! Keep the fight going. I know how horrible it is!!!! I'm thirsty right now in fact, but I need will power to do the right thing by my body. You've won half the battle by understanding the need and doing what you can to improve things for yourself.

WELL DONE!!!  :yahoo; :2thumbsup; :yahoo;

 :bandance;   Your treatments should be much better with less fluid to remove.
