Here's a link to the USDA Food Composition Data database:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/
You can do a search for a specific food and it will give you the nutritional content, or you can look at lists of foods that have already been compiled under the Nutrient Lists section. That's where the Potassium and Phosphorus lists I posted came from. They're interesting links, and if you want to you can sort them in descending order by nutrient content. Let's just say cornmeal and tomato paste are pretty much out for this group!

Thanks Mallory,
This is useful information and it is very easy to find what you are eating. :thumbup;

Great Link. I used it today because I've been eating Blueberry POP Tarts (just 1 a day) and was wondering what I was doing to myself. This told me that both P04 and K were under 50. :2thumbsup; Sodium was 207....... but I'm more concerned about the two big "P"s.

I have downloaded the nutrient list of several items from the usda. I am currently in the process of combining them into one major list. Right now the list consists of levels of Phosphorus, Potassium, Moisture, Protein, Sodium, Carbohydrate, Total Fat, Saturated fat, and both Poly and Mono Unsaturated fats Once it's finished I'll send it to anyone who would like it.

There's no need to fast. Choose wisely and eat well.
Thanks, Mallory!
