I cant believe how well I feel these days..... I have only had 5 dialysis sessions and I feel the best I have felt in years....... I feel like I am in my 30's or something..... I cant believe how sick I use to feel... My family has noticed a big change in me and they all say that I seem to not be sick anymore..... I know they don't completely understand the CKD and they don't understand how one feels when your sick with this.... Its so gradual and sneaky..... I really notice a change in the past week on how I feel.... I feel like I could run, work all day, play all night, there doesn't seem like anything that I cant do and the best part is that I want to do all of these things and more..... Did dialysis do this for me.... Did raising my hemoglobin made me feel young again.... This must be it...... my hubby is scared..... cause I want sex all the time..... my daughter who is 24 can not out walk me now..... its like I am on drugs.... like I am speed or something....... I am back to doing things fast again just like I always did a few years ago......I thought I was just getting old...... It wasn't me.....it was CKD...... And Dialysis has brought me back to life..... Does it get better than this ..... with more D..... let see.........

Hi Tyefly:
I'm sure the rise in your hemoglobin is greatly responsible for your new Superwoman feelings. When I first started Arenesp I had the same feelings. I would cut the lawn which takes about 2 hours, and then cut it again as I had so much energy. I really start dragging at the end of the month as the Arenesp effect wears off. I would rather have an Arenesp shot then sex (maybe that's because I'm 73).
Enjoy your new found energy.

I'm not on dialysis yet but when I get my epo shots, I feel normal again!
-
I think that is brillient, so glad you are feeling really well, long may it last.
-
Gee, wish I felt something close to normal, but in my case it's more about the arthritis causing my "abnormality." I've come to grips with the PD, but man, oh man, that arthritis can surely lay me low!
-
tyefly,I am so happy for you! I havent felt that way in so long, I think because of the anemia,I havent had epo because my insurance wont pay for it and from what I understand its expensive.
-
Enjoy your new burst of energy. It must feel wonderful. I'll bet it is the EPO. Maybe check to see if there is an increase in your hemoglobin levels when you review your blood tests. You might find your explanation.

The toxins being removed from your body will make you feel good too.

for me I start to feel bad if I don't do as much as I can. I'm 27,av fistula, have nothing other than dialysis to deal with and have been very physical all my life so it's not hard for me to stay physical but if I don't get sweaty at some point in the day I don't feel as good I think if you can make yourself sweat it helps with the water when I am old I will sit in a sweat room to get it out that way.
so far the only thing I can't do any more is marshal arts, you know what you can do and if you can do it, do it because you never know when you have to learn why you can't anymore.

I'm so glad you're feeling better. And that's after a couple weeks on dialysis. Just wait till you see how you feel months from now! You may actually feel smarter too!
That was what happened with me. Uremia really affects your ability to think straight, to concentrate, and to remember stuff. Once that clears out of your brain, all those abilities will return and you'll feel like you've actually become smarter.

Enjoy the feeling while it lasts. You may be lucky and feel great the entire time your are on dialysis. Remember to still take good care of yourself.

Thanks everyone..... I do feel great and I know it will last cause I will make sure that I will get enough Dialysis..... right now I am not that sick.... I still have good residual function and that is helping with my fluid..... which is a big part of D.... I am going to watch my labs real close and the goal is to go to nxstage at home and then to nocturnal to keep my labs good as my function decreases..... Plus why not throw in a transplant too..... that would be the kicker..... I am approved and getting my two living donors tested..... One is a low match with 1/6 so I am hoping that the other donor will be a better match......
Its hard to understand what feeling great is...untill you feel it.... to me I am perfect..... what a difference..... And Yes I am smarter.... every day.....
