Title: Anyone taking Neurontin for RLS?
Post by: lizabee on October 12, 2009, 01:54:56 PM
I have been having bad bouts of restless leg, especially at night.  There have been several nights I have been up until 2 or 3 in the morning walking around..so I talked to the nurse Practitioner today about it and she (and Neph) think Neurontin is a good drug to try.  I don't have the RLS every night, and I never know when I might get it, so this drug is something I will take every day (2x) and it should ward off the bouts of RLS.  I am just wondering if anyone else is taking (or has taken) Neurontin for RLS?  And does it work well?  Thanks!

My sister does, and it works well for her.  I hope you get some relief. It is miserable!

Great! Thanks!
I work with people with disabilities (preparing them to return to work) and I use to think that it was weird that all these people that suffer from only RLS were getting Social Security, but I can see how it could be dibilitating

My Mother was on that.  I also believe that was the medication that made her vomit and get sick and they had to switch her.  I'm not 100% sure on that.  Good luck!

I took Neurontin for a while. 100 mg once a day. It really helped me. This was when I was on in center hemo and then on PD. Ever since I switched to home hemo, I have not had to take it.

It sure is driving me nuts right now,its 245am by the way..so let me know if you find something that really works. Good Luck!

My husband has tried a couple of drugs for his RLS and guess what the contridictions say inside the box "may give you insomnia" "do not take if you have kidney problems" how about that for a laugh. He is now putting up with the pain or should I say I am. Try them and see if they work.

I was up until 230 watching Dog: the Bounty Hunter (of all things), while walking around.  I feel so bad that I go downstairs, because it's not fair for my husband to be up too....They told me that it takes a couple weeks to kick in, I can't wait to see if it works.

Restless legs are hard to live with.  I took neurotin for it for awhile but I got up to the Max dosage and had to try something else.
