Hi my name is Alison, I am 45 and am single mum to 4 kids (1 at uni,3 teens at home-hell! I have had kidney disease for long time but recently started dialysis (CAPD but currently not working due to leak internally).Life's a bit of a struggle at the mo, financially, emotionally and practically. Trying to hold on to my sense of humour. I used to work with horses and have a big, black lab called Murphy who is my lifesaver. Strated, despite being a technophobe to chat to others on the net, to find support, advice and understanding from other dialysis playmates. Feel like my life ig going nowhere at the present and realy resent all aspects of dialysis. If I didn't rant I'd cry. Ordinary people don't understand this. Please make contact with me. Stuck at home, feeling ill you begin to wonder if you sre the only one struggling to cope with dialysis...

Greetings, Sugarlump! Join the club. Epoman will tell you that you should start a new post to introduce yourself.
Take it from me - this is a great place to be. One thing, the communication here is frank, open, but above all, very helpful.

Sorry about the thread business, told you i am a technophobe.
I live in Suffolk, England.
I heard a rumour that 1 in 2000 people suffer from kidney failure. There are 2 people in my street with it, a street with a population of about 50! I wonder what the true figures are?
