Title: I finished my first dialysis today
Post by: tyefly on September 22, 2009, 09:19:24 PM: Well guys I finished my first dialysis today and everything went much better than I had hoped.... All these months of learning everything I can sure did help.... I went in there positive and ask the right question and knew what I was talking about even down to the arteral and venus pressures. There was no pain with my first sticks.... The place was very clean. It had a light and airy feeling with it.... I can have vistiors at any time for as long as I want and I can eat, drink, doesnt matter... I did very well and most of all I did not crash at all....BP went down a little but not much.... two hours tonight and three hours this thursday...
Thx to all of you that provided me the tools to successfully pull this off...

I didn't really know what was happening when i started dialysis, i felt like crap but knew it was good for me.

If you have a chance (or the inclination) while it is still fresh in your mind, can you add your story here to the First Day of Dialysis thread? (it has been dormant for a while and it is a great thread w/ advice for newbies)

I went trucking for over night up to Seattle and back...was fun to get out of town.... ( such a short trip)

but anyway..my second day of dialysis yesterday was not good.... they used the same holes and one wouldnt work and so they move to another site up the arm... and it blew up..... Kind of inflitrated..... was a a big round yucky.... and so they could not dialysis me and sent me home with a ice pack.... and a painfull arm....they told me that Its just because my fistula is very young...baby fistula..... so Iam going back on saturday to try it again... I am hoping that everything goes welll..... The first stick on my first dialysis went so well..... and then my second....well not so good....
