Wow ! :clap; I just got back from the AAKP 36th Annual Convention held in Denver, Colo. What a great convention and so much that I learned that I didn't get from my dialysis center. I had a wonderful time since this was my first convention. I didn't really expect that it was going to be as interesting to see all the support on CKD, Fistulas, and Dialysis options that I felt good about myself much better than I did before I attended. The workshops were incredible and educational that I'm was so glad that I went. There was this group lunchen that was so informative that that was the best to make me feel comfortable about my kidney dieases and being on dialysis.
What really made me feel surprised was the banquet. It was a nice dinner and awards night. I totally was in shock when I won the Paitent Comeback of the Year Award. I was so honored and I recieved a plaque with my name on it. How great is that. I can't wait to show my Tech, Nurses, Dr. and staff at my dialysis center. Now this is something to make a person feel good. What a great AAKP staff that brought this all together. :bandance;
If you haven't been to an AAKP Convention you all should go for the enormous info on Kidneys, etc.
I'm happy,
Rivy

It's great that you attended.
I've been to the AAKP annual conventions in the past and have always learned a lot and enjoyed the fellowship.
Their "Ask the Experts" Luncheon is especially informative.
I heard that Shad Ireland spoke at the convention as well.
I think over 400 people attended. What a great gathering of people with CKD!

Good for you!!!! Do they give you time ahead to plan ? I mean will they announce when and where the next one is to be soon? I just started getting their newsletters a month or so ago, so do not know much about them.

The annual conventions are usually around the same time of the year--end of August, beginning of September.
They usually announce the event around June 1st.
