Title: Greek Yogurt
Post by: redz812 on August 31, 2009, 03:44:10 PM
My husband has been eating greek yogurt. Brands are Brown Cow and Chobani. Both have 13 - 14grams of protein. We are having a rough time getting enough protein in him. I don't understand the contradictory recommendations.

Don't eat nuts or chocolate but protein bars are loaded with both. Don't eat cheese, egg yolks, etc. etc. Where in the heck is he supposed to get protein from!!!

The problem is eating enough protein without raising you phosphorus levels above 5.5 mg/dL (and of course potassium levels as well).

It's definitely a difficult balancing act, especially when using dairy products.  Remember, the more fat they have, the less phosphorus.
