The New York Times is writing a story on various patient populations affected by Health Care Reform. The story will include kidney transplant recipients who qualify for Medicare coverage to pay for their immunosuppressive medications.
If Medicare has covered your immunosuppressive drugs for the last 2-3 years and your coverage is now running out, please contact Ellie Schlam at ellies@kidney.org as soon as possible. Please do NOT respond if you have private insurance or are covered under COBRA.
Thank you,
National Kidney Foundation

Being on the other side of the 'Pond' from the States i have read with some alarm the amount of 'anti national health service'which is against the President's ideas. Now i agree that some of our services are perhaps slower and that the newest equipment takes longer to arrive, but when you are dragged off the street you get the best available - nobody asks for your credit card or insurance cert. and you get the pills you need not the ones you can afford. Perhaps the only criteria is that you help and look after your self and i do not wish to start a yelling match, but as a nation you need to eat better and cut out the soda's.
