Title: First time stick.
Post by: maritza0486 on July 31, 2009, 10:23:15 AM
So, yesterday I had my fistula ballooned for the second time and the doctor told me that it would be able to be used immediately.  :puke; Today I was  hesitant on whether I should have used it or not but I told the nurse and she used one needle on my arm today. It did not hurt and the treatment went smooth :clap;. Monday I will get 2 needles and I know I will be fine. Just wanted to inform yallz on this. Have a blessed day everyone! :cuddle;

I just went through that same exact process.  I had one needle last week and had two needles for the first time Wednesday.  It went fine.  Now I am just waiting until I can have my catheter taken out.

i was scared crapless when the stuck the first needle on I use to dread it all the way for the next treatment. but it was a relief to take out the cathedar. The way I was able to get use to the stick I would watch them as they insert the needle now its nothing

Do you think they'll ever invent something that will replace needles? That would be so great, but I cannot imagine what it could be.

I hope the future holds an artificial internal kidney.  That way future renal patients would not have to wait for a transplant.

With the problems I am presently having with my graft, I do wish medical technology would do away with needles!  Great to hear how your fistulas are doing, Maritza and Pklipe!
