Hi everyone that I love and adore!!!
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. Life is full steam ahead. I have been my usual accident prone self but bones are on the mend. Still getting use to dialysis and my sister and I have been having a fine old time dealing with the legalities over my father's estate. All these "girlfriends" have come out of the closet that we have never met or heard of. We are just waiting for the long lost stepbrother or sister to show up!
While I was doing my dialysis training I put my magazine on hold for a few months but we are now going live on September 1. I was telling Richardmel that it has been so frustrating doing all the back section of the website and still not seeing any visuals for the homepage. It reminds me of when I was a school and my parents made me do the content for a project first before they would let me do the cover page of the project. I can't wait to see how the homepage looks.
Anyhow, it has been a very expensive long haul to get it this far but now there is light at the end of the tunnel. The first event we are going to sponsor is for DELA. DELA is Dialysis Escape Line Australia and they are having an event on September 26 which we are the major sponsor for. So that confirms it. The business is now up and running.
Doing dialysis at home is great. It fits in with me rather than the other way around. Sometimes though it would be nice to have someone set up my machine and do my needles for me and clean up afterwards. Over here,(Oz) as many of you would know, they encourage you to totally handle your treatments on your own. Paul goes away now a lot and I have no dramas doing dialysis on my own. Not nervous now to get up and pick up my lines and cross the room to turn off the light or get something that I forgot to put on my nightstand. I feel pretty confident with it all now.
Other than busting to get back to the gym when this ankle mends, everything is pretty good. My blood pressure is up since I haven't been exercising so I am on another med for that which is still struggling to keep it down but all things considered, life is pretty darn good right now.
Anyhow, I am going to take a couple of hours to catch up with everyone this morning. I have had a quick read and answered a few posts. Great to see everyone is in fighting form. For those of you having a bad time at the moment with your clinic, frustrations with your situation or not feeling too great, I send you all the love in the world and promise that "this too will pass". Kidney disease affects so much of our body's functions, you can't possibly expect to feel brilliant all of the time. Fantastic news about Wattle. I hope all of you who want a transplant get that gift in the not to distant future. Personally, I don't want a transplant - well for now anyhow. I just want to be in control, get into a routine and live my life as normally as possible. And when it comes to summer that means living on the beach and in the sun. If I had a transplant I couldn't give up the sun so I would just be a walking, talking melanoma!
I can't promise I will be around much between now and the launch of the magazine but I will definitely drop in whenever I can. Take care everyone and you are always in my thoughts. Lots of love, Cindy. :grouphug;

Nice to catch up with your news Cindy. I'm sporting a stupid broken ankle myself at the moment, courtesy of a wayward pebble that ended up rolling my foot over on its side. I'm feeling really really well, other than this latest frustration.
Glad to hear about how confident you feel with doing D at home and also nice news about the business. :flower;

Hey Kit. You can stay with us and I can hook you up on Merlin (my machine). That way it won't cost you a penny and you can have a really nice holdiay. x

Hey Gail....What is it with ankles? I didn't even know my was broken until a couple of days later. It was swollen, but not badly and I thought it was gout. It is just annoying more than anything getting around. Glad to hear you are feeling so well!! xxx
