I have not been on much recently. Like many of you, I am facing multiple challenges.
First of all, our trusted laptop has conked out. I only just was able to take it to the shop today. Hopefully, it will soon be fixed.
Then, my graft has been giving me lots of trouble. I had the last operation done. Since then, whenever I am cannulated, I had a great deal of pain, and not just the first stick. It would pain severely until the end of the session! I started getting lidocaine again. That would stop the first sticks from hurting, but when it wore off.......!!!
The vascular surgeon has lined me up for surgery to correct the problem. I will be going in on Thursday morning.
Also, I am just about recovering from 'flu-like symptoms' (as the doctor in Emergency called it).
Last Wednesday at dialysis, I was shivering like anything. Then, just as soon as I ate dinner Wed night, it all came back up. Same thing Thu morning at breakfast. Thursday night, my daughter forced me to the ER. I didn't even know that I had a fever. I spent about 7 hours there. Just given medication.
Along with all of this, I have been coordinating a language stay for 11 Guadeloupan students (French Caribbean) along with two adults!! And two of them stayed at my home (families get $900 for keeping two students for two weeks!)
That is why you have not been 'seeing' me.
I am hoping that next week will be brighter all around!!

I hope all the weeks ahead are easier! It definitely sounds like "when it rains, it pours" for you.

So sorry to hear about the difficulties. I am glad to hear you are getting the graft fixed, and I hope things calm down for you soon.
Good luck with surgery! I'll be thinking of you Thursday morning!

Good to hear from you but sorry to hear all the problems you've had. I had been wondering where you were. I hope the surgery goes well and that things turn around for you now. Thinking of you :cuddle;

I've come to the conclusion that we as ESRD patients just fall victim to more "stuff." My pneumonia vaccination had just expired and, you guessed it, I got a "patch" of pneumonia. I guess all we can do is just "attempt" to stay healthy. I'm sending you warm fuzzies and good thoughts for quick healing.
