Im on my 2nd iron infusion, I cant really tell it is doing me any good tho. I have 3 more to go . Has any one had this and what was the outcome.?

HI Brandy. It will take a few weeks before it starts making a difference to how you are feeling. It should give you a real boost of energy when it kicks in. Certainly worked for me. x
-
helped my energy alot, constipated me a bit tho
-
It helped me a whole lot, in only one day. You will feel better too. Guess it reacts differently to different people.

It brought my iron up, and helped my hemoglobin levels a bit, but I can't say it gave me a noticeable amount more energy. But I had reactions to the infusions. They made me terribly nauseous, made my hands tingle and my lips and tongue numb, and then when the nausea had finally passed, it made my insides sore. On the advice of the nurse, I took a Pepcid AC beforehand, and she administered it at a slower speed, and that stopped the nausea, but I still got the rest of the reaction each time.

John is on his 5th iron infusion and maybe his last depends on the one next week after a blood test. John had to increase his EPO to 2 a week and he said he does not feel any better, but he has got very grumpy :Kit n Stik;
