That was a fast drop...
Yes it can happen.....the kidneys are taking alot of strain (spellcheck) The sicker they get the harder they have to work...

Good luck on starting dialysis........

Carol,
My husband was very steady with his creatinine and GFR for a long time then it just tanked very quickly. Even though we knew dialysis was in the future, in many ways we weren't emotionally prepared when we had to start "right now!"

I'm sending good wishes.

Aleta

Thinking of you.  My levels all dropped (or rose) from OK to needing dialysis within the space of a couple of weeks.  One week they were telling me not to worry, but within a couple of weeks I'd started dialysis.  So, yes, I'm sorry, it can definitely happen that quickly.  Good luck.  The thought of it is worse than the reality (mostly).  Have they talked to you about PD instead of haemo?

PD for PKD kidneys .....?
I have PKD and the doc says it is not a problem to do PD as the fluid goes between layers on the "outside" of you abdominal area.... The kidneys are squashed on the inside...

Good luck and keep us posted
