Tomorrow I have my first transplant evaluation at UAB in Birmingham, AL. I am a little bit nervous! My 2nd eval will be at Vanderbilt in Nashville next month. I guess my biggest fear is that they'll find something else wrong with me!

I'm so happy for you! I'm sure you're nervous and excited and that's perfectly normal. I truly hope all goes well and you can get a transplant soon. Leslie and I will be thinking and praying for you!

Wow, appointments on a Sunday, not here they do that.
The first time you do anything one is usually nervous, so don't fret it. When you go for you second one, you will have better knowledge of what to expect and probably have more questions this time to ask.
Think of it this way, this is the easiest part. The waiting and the call will make you nervous.

It's understandable to be nervous; I was nervous before my transplant eval started too.
But please don't be afraid that they might find something else wrong with you. Because if there is something else wrong with you, then you've got that condition already, you just don't know about it.
And from my ESRD, I learned the hard way that what you don't know can hurt you a whole lot.
Better to find out you've got a problem, before it grows to the point of being a BIG problem.

My first evaluation was just movies, a lot of talking and some Q&A. I met the Social Worker, a doctor, my coordinator and a few others. It was all day, but nothing to fret over. Good Luck! It will all be over soon enough and you'll be waiting on your kidney! :cuddle;
