So, I went for my monthly check up with the Dr. and he was astounded with my lab results. He says according to the results he got from two weeks ago - if they are correct, I would not need dialysis. We're going on the assumption that they are not correct so we're having them redone in 2 weeks to see what they say.. He said if they do turn out to be accurate then it would be a miracle. Other than my clearance being extremely high and my kt/v being 4.7 - everything else looks very good (except low potassium and iron).
So... I don't know what to hope for here? I'd love to not have to do dialysis but I also don't want to go back to feeling like crap all the time, you know? I'm not sure I've ever felt this well in my life. On the other hand, it'd be nice to not have to do dialysis and work torwards a transplant WITHOUT having to do dialysis.
I guess it's something that I will worry about when/if I get there - so, could you guys send some good vibes my way? Health is always something we strive for.. and this would certainly be a blessing.

Miracles can and do happen :-)
Good vibes coming your way............

Here's hoping for that miracle.

:bandance; I hope that the labs are right and you stay stable and feel well for a long time.

You have my positive thoughts :grouphug;

The nephs told me it would be 6 months until dialysis, and it is three years later. Miracle in my life. Good luck with the next labs. I hope they come back good. :2thumbsup;

:cheer:
Hope the first results were right!
Maybe you could be one of the lucky patients who don't need it 3 times a week? Go only once or twice, just to give your kidneys a bit of help?

:bow; Kristi. I'll say some big prayers for you. That would be a miracle and miracles do happen..... :cuddle;

Thanks guys, it is appreciated :)

There was a situation here this year of a miracle person - so it does happen. One of my renal nurses told me they have a patient who had been doing dialysis for years who's kidney just up and started working again. Sending every positive thought and prayer your way hon!

I hope your next labs are good and things continue to go well for you. Maybe your kidneys will keep working for you for many more years. Don't let that prevent you from getting on the transplant list, though, if you are at the point where you qualify. I have been on the transplant list for 5 years and they have been telling me my kidneys would fail and I'd need dialysis for 8 years now. Sometimes you just never know.

I add my well wishes to everyone else.. and yes some of my nurses have heard of the odd miracle too. you could be an IHD first!!! I think it is sensible to re-do them to make sure.. the thing is all about how you feel now... and if you do stop dialysis to obviously keep a very close watch in your labs and how they go. Like I'd do labs every 2-3 days and just watch and see how you go. I'm sure the neph would monitor this all very closely in this unusual situation.
Fingers crossed for awesomeness!!! :grouphug;

Ill join the well wishers too, good luck :thumbup;

I went to the Dr. on Friday and labs still look good (but not AS good as last month) - we have lessened dialysis a bit so I can sleep more at night and we'll see how it goes! He says he doesn't want to stop dialysis because it usually makes things worse and people end up back on it again anyways. But, I'm feeling good and I guess that's all that matters!
