Eye surgery is next week on the 24. Today was pre op visit work up and choosing which type of lens implant I want. I won't be able to see after the surgery and the next day if I was normal age related cataract, but mine is medically created and my healing is different. Last eye surgery on my good eye post tx I was blind for 4 months due to my meds and getting an eye infection. This is what I expect to happen again. Past experiences usually happen over and over with me medically.
Thanks for your thoughts.
-
Good luck on the 24th Chris :thumbup;
-
Yes, good luck for 24th................here's hoping that you are able to see again much quicker this time. :cuddle;

I'll post more later, already post in who loves IHD the most and now going to go rest. Vision ok right now, will change as eye heals the doc said.
-
:2thumbsup; Keep resting and healing Chris!
-
Wow Chris. You are amazing.
-
Woke up and had to use glasses again to see the clock, was hoping this wouldn't happen like the doctor said it might happen. Still not going outside to go anywhere, to much visual input is weird right now. Cleaned up kitchen and get real lightheaded.. Dark places seem better right now.
-
Don't do too much physical work. Let the kitchen go. I can imagine you'd want to be in darker places for now. Eye surgery is not to be played around with. Be Still, Boy...
-
I missed something as usual, but best of luck to you today Chris.
Me too!
I hope you're okay Chris! :cuddle;
-
Heal fast Chris. :flower;
-
Take the time to sleep as much as you can. And of course hope to see you around soon. ;)
-
Sleep, rest Chris, but just sign on long enough to tell us how you are doing....
-
Today is not a good day so far. Vision has gotten worse since yesterday, it is getting blurrier and have to use glasses again to help see farther away. Close up vision is worse to, can't see a magazine print todayand gave up trying to read a car magazine, was very blurry to see any print. I miss the day after surgery vision, didn't need glasses much, it was like having vision that I had when I was a kid, well except I don't have peripheral vision today.
-
I hope the vision improve quickly! Great to hear from you, Chris! :2thumbsup;
-
1 problem with sleep, don't like too. I am bored though.
-
do you have cable tv with video on demand. Free on Demand todays (undeer musiic) is the 2009 New Orleans Jazz Festival. If you like jazz you can lie around and just listen.

Is that normal (did they say that is to be expected?) or should you call the doctor? Are you still doing all those eye drops?
:cuddle;
-
Get a friend to come by and type for you in the chat room. That'll keep you entertained for a bit.
-
Dan, we have OnDemand, but not going to watch any movies, dad would have a sh** fit if I did that. We have HBO, but seen all the current movies and the 80's stuff they are playing at night.
I see the doc Tuesday morning and I'm still doing all the drops. He said the vision might change over time so I can't get new glasses till later. Which he told me Medicare will help pay due to surgery. ??? But the vision change seems to fast for me especially when I could see so great the first day post surgery. I'll call Monday though.
Aleta, I don
't have that option. The friend who is computer knowledgable lives 72 miles away so I see them at least once a month or if I'm in the hospital. My closest friend less than 2 miles away doesn't own a computer and never has. He uses one at work, but not like a home computer. Not sure if the wife has used a pc, but she is a stay at home mom.
-
Darn Chris, You're Dad wouldn't even let you watch FREE on Demand. You need to take a picture of him for me to use as my next avitar pic! lol

Paying for the movie part he would. Not the free stuff.

Sorry to hear things have been so hard for you Chirs. Hope it all gets better soon. :grouphug;

Slept most of the day, then had to clean the house before dad got home. How one can get so mad for not cleaning when they are the ones who make the mess is beyond me. Only takes a few minutes to clean off the countertop and rinse the dishes off and load into the dishwasher. Of course I didn't go to bed till after 4 am too. I can't read Newspaper or magazines worth a darn and that is bugging the h*** out of me. I see the eye doc at 10:30 am as long as I get there.
-
Chris, Do you reallly need to be up doing all that activity? That eye surgery is n o joke, friend. Take care of yourself. So don't read! Listen to music! That's what I do four hours a day m,w,f. ha
-
Doc said I can resume normal activities, so back to physical therapy I go, but will wait till next week. ;D
The vision change is part of the healing, but he is going to monitor me more closely now instead of waiting till August which was my next initial surgery follow up since I told him the problems I am having. Down to two different eye drops now and don't have to wear the eye shield at night anymore. Although it now makes me wonder why he changed his plans on how soon he wants to see me if "eye looks and is healing good".
Surprised I didn't get a speeding ticket on the way to the doc, I was speeding up to a green light as the cop was coming the other way. Saw him pull into a business and thought for sure he was turning around to get me, but I already turned and then turned down the street to the docs and no cop :2thumbsup; :clap; Going home was easier since I mostly followed people till some compact car cut me off so I had to cut him right back off and slow him down, then made him sit at the light :rofl; Wasn't in the mood for some teenage crap driving, just wish I had some old truck so I could hit his :sir ken; :rofl;

Did anybody see the car chase in Dallas on TV yesterday? Hmmm, wonder if our friend Chris was driving???
-
We don't have car chases like you do out west. On the rare occassion one does occur on the highway, the news always shows after the fact, not during..
Maybe I get my inspiration from an old 80's movie with Charllie Sheen and Christy Swanson called "The Chase" although I do prefer the BMW film collection of Clive Owen driving various BMW's and doing special stunts. Best video I got for free from BMW when they offered it if you watched all the films online back then.
And it wasn't me Dan, I slept and cleaned yesterday.
-
Darn Chris, and it looked like so much fun. Well, until a pickup truck ran into him and now he in the hospital in critical condition plus facing trouble with forgery. But the first part was an exciting couple of hours.
