Title: I need help from all you wonderful bakers out there!!!!!!
Post by: MandaMe1986 on June 04, 2009, 10:45:57 AM
Okay so I have been cleaning out my house. I found some of my moms stuff in the kitchen.  Now my mom doesn't cook, never has. But for some reason she bought a Springform Pan Set from Pampered Chef a while back. I remember when she got it she has all these recipes she was gonna make. I laughed and said well see.  Well it is like 3 years later and it is still in the box in the plastic!

So I am not a baker, aside from a cake here and there. Or a nice loaf of bread.  But I can not sit here and not use such a nice set.  I appreciate good cook wear what can I say.

Dose anyone have a recipe that I won't mess up?  And like the set came with the normal spring pan but came with this heart thing in the center of it and this other thing that I have no clue what it is or how to describe it. haha can anyone help me?  It kinda looks like a bunt pant but like without the sides. Dose that make sense?

So yes can anyone help?

I think the "bundt pan thing" you are describing can probably be used a bottom for the spring form pan to create an effect when the finished cake is turned out from the pan.

Does that make sense?

I have one of those, Manda! If you PM me your address I'll send a copy of the little recipe paper that came with it. I have never used mine!  :rofl; :rofl;

I have no idea why I bought it years ago, except I had a vision of being a great cook like my mother. HaHa. That will never happen.  :clap; :clap;

I do know that springform pans are for cheesecakes.  :2thumbsup;

The recipes on the enclosed paper are for Apple Bavarian Torte and Cream Cheese Filled Nut Bread. The instructions for care are also included.

It's been a while, but I baked a boxed chocolate cake mix in a springform pan.  Then, when it was baked & cooled, I sliced it into layers and put ice cream in between the layers.  I secured the sides again, placed it in the freezer and voila!  ice cream cake!  It was pretty good.

David that dose make sense thanks!

Aleta I got one of those sheets too in this one. The recipies area  little diffrent tho. I have a recipie for Berries and Cream Cake, Pumpkin Chiffon Torte, Torta Italiano, Classice Cheesecake, Chocolate Almond Cheesecake, and Blueberry Cinnamon Nut Coffeecake.  But I need a recipie I won't screw up! Haha. I think I might be able to pull of the Classic Cheesecake recipie. I hope.

Cherpep that ice cream cake sounds good.  I want a ice cream cake from DQ, Haha

Ooooh, do a cheesecake.  Graham cracker crusts are easy, and cheesecake is hard to mess up.  Then top with fresh fruit - yummy, yummy!

You people need to just hush and start baking....

No fruit concoction on the cheese cake.  I like mine just plain cheese cake.  Don't worry about the spring pan.  Just bring it to me in a regular pie pan and a spoon.

Cheesecake, with or without fruit topping is actually reasonably renal friendly.  Cream cheese is lower in phos than most other cheeses, so a small piece is a better choice than ice cream ( which is too much fluid on top of the phos!).  So, come on - bake one for us!

I used to do them by the dozen for the family restaurant.  I may never make another in my life!

I did it!  :yahoo;  It came out pretty good too.  ;)  In fact it came out really good. I made it with splenda and fat free sour cream and low fat cream cheese.  ANd you can't tell! That is how good I am.

I will send you my address. You can send me a cheesecake! ha!

I do not bake - maybe the occasional rice krispie treats and every once in a blue moon some peanut butter banana cookies - that is the extent of my baking capabilities.

Your cheesecake looks great Manda... Be proud!  :flower;

yeah.. to make it worse I drizzle chocolate on them... Not very renal friendly - phosphorous or potassium wise. Thank goodness I only make them for special occasions.

Cheese Cake?  I'd definitely eat it.  With or without the healthy substitutions.  I used to make an ice cream with buttermilk that tasted exactly like cheesecake.  Can I find the recipe?  Or can I find the ice cream maker?

Mandy, I'm getting a surprise for my birthday that I already know about.  Homemade Tres Leches Cake.... Hope I can still have lots of milk by then.

TRES LECHES! Oh.. You have to save me a piece of that, DW! Have you ever tried the one from Papasito's? mmmm

Manda, here is the recipe.. Warning - NOT renal friendly

Elvis Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup butter softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup peanut butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 ripe bananas

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Blend butter, brown and white sugars, peanut butter, vanilla and eggs. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda and salt. Mix with the previous blended ingredients. Mash bananas. Add to ingredients.
Bake until lightly brown and firm - 10-15 minutes.

If you want add chocolate chips to the mixture before baking. Or drip chocolate on the cookie after baking.

Do you have a Swomp Coller?  My daddy came and fixed my fridge air as I like to call it.  All last week it ran from 85 to 90 in the house that is not cool. You need you some fridge air.
