Title: eGFR calculators / Neph discrepency

How accurate are the online GFR calculators? My neph said that when my creatinine hits 3.0 I'll be at about 20% function and she'll refer me for a transplant work-up. My creatinine is 2.74 right now. According to the online calculators, my function is already around 20%. I don't doubt my neph --- just curious about where the discrepency might come from.

I think the ones on line run a bit hi. my certain is3.7 and my GFR is 15. according to my MD. on line my GFR is13.
