consider yourself lucky if you do not live in Texas
Blue Bell has a new flavor Southern Blackberry Cobbler
tastes like blueberries and the pieces of crust are crunchy not doughy blackberries
thank goodness I only bought a pint
-
Sounds Good. :thumbup;
-
I have a question: If the flavor is Southern Blackberry Cobbler, why does it taste like "blueberries"?
Either way, Twirl, it sounds heavenly!
-
Ths is a re-issue. I remmber this flavor form the early 90's. Good stuff.
-
David13 my bad :waiting;
-
Ben and Jerrys came out with a pumpkin cheesecake one for the holidays...it is super yummy too
-
ohhhhhhhh both sound good
-
Ice cream MMMMMMM! ( Insert Homer Simpson voice here.)
-
David13 my bad :waiting;
I really thought there might be a reason it tasted like blueberries. . . ???
Love ya, Twirl! :cuddle;
Now hand over some of the ice cream!
-
Yeah, Blue Bell rocks! But I'm boring when it comes to ice cream. I like Homemade Vanilla and plain ole Chocolate.
-
if we are talking about what we really like I will have to go with some mint chocolate chip baby..or some lime sherbert
-
You haven't lived until you've had Blue Bell Natural Vanilla Bean... Actually I may have lived longer if I'd NOT had Blue Bell Natural Vanilla Bean.

words from a true Texan
-
Twirl,
They had that flavor last year when I went searching where to get the banana ice cream you told me about from them. We have blueberry cheesecake ice cream from our local ice cream/dairy. That was sooooo good! ;D :thumbup;
-
a couple of summers they had cantaloupe ice cream
it was horrible
Yogi would not eat it
-
With Natural Vanilla Bean you can add coke, pepsi, chocolate milk, orange juice, strawberries or blue or black berries, caramel cream, root beer...Did I make my point yet? I'm going to Brenham and get them to stop shipping out all the V B to those yankess.....
-

Ewwwwwww, Canteloups in the first place, YUCK!
Add it to Ice Cream and you get :puke;
Could go for some ice cream now though!
-
My father gets a pint (I think it's a pint) of vanilla and one of chocolate every week. He eats them both all by himself! I think that's why he has a little fluff around his middle now. We did not have Blue Bell growing up in El Paso, but a few years back they started selling it and I guess he can't resist it.
I love the chocolate. I add a little milk (and Hershey's syrup when I'm really bad) and mix it until it is very smooth. That is my favorite way to eat ice cream. Sadly it wrecks my blood sugar so I try to stay away as much as possible.
I may have to try this cobbler stuff.
-
So Texas has good restaurants, chilli, and ice cream!
-
It is true! I am living in the wrong place to deal with this diabetes junk. I am finding it very difficult.
Mmm.. Now I am thinking of ice cream.. Darn Twirl!
I need some electro shock therapy or something,.. everytime I think of something bad.. bzzzt! Maybe that will cure me.
-
Texan's love their food. And big portions...
-
Twirl,
I do not live in Texas and we have Blue Bell ice cream here in TN.............and I LOVE it! However, have not tried the Blackberry Cobbler yet but I bet I would like it because I LOVE blackberry cobbler!!! mmmmmmm
-
I have to remember to get a blackberry milkshake Monday when I come home from docs in the city. Only one area Dairy Queen has the blackberries to use in shakes and sundaes.
-
I though we'd discussed this before - because we don't have Blue Bell in California - found this on Wikipedia Blue Bell holds impressive sales figures, being the third best-selling ice cream in the United States as of 2004 , behind Breyers and Edy's/Dreyer's, despite being sold in only 17 states.[11] The sales area includes southern states between Arizona and Florida and Kansas City, an area that comprises only 20% of the ice cream sales geographic market.[12 - but I remember seeing some in New Mexico, will have to try it next time I go there.
Reading about their flavors, these ones sounded good! Candy Jar is caramel ice cream with peanut butter cups, chocolate chunks, peanut brittle, chunks of caramel and chocolate crisp pieces. Chocolate Extreme is chocolate ice cream with a thick chocolate fudge swirl, chocolate-coated peanut butter cups, chopped pecans, almonds and walnuts.
-
What part of New Mexico did you see it in Karol? I haven't seen any here, but maybe I am just not looking hard enough.
-
Maybe it was Blue Bunny... ?
???
-
Yeah I can get blue bunny out here....Maybe. Well I am gonna keep an eye out for it just in case.
-
blue bunny vs. blue bell.... not even close. lol :flower;
-
Well, I am blue just thinking about not having any ice cream :'(
-
Paris, what city do you live in?
-
Raleigh North Carolina. I think I need to take a trip to Texas :2thumbsup;
-
We have plenty of Blue Bunny and Blue Peeps, but noooo Blue Bell Ice Cream
-
We need to start shipping you guys some of the good stuff....
-
They ship it, but expensive and you have to buy a minimum of 4.
-
Two days worth? That's no big deal.
It is a little expensive in the stores but they have it on sale a lot for under $4. I have relatives in S. California who have it shipped for special occasions (but to be fair, my cousin manages a large grocery store)... so he probably get it free or something.
-
Blue Bunny Ice Cream is available at our 99 cent store.
-
There's a reason why it's at a 99¢ store :rofl;
-
Yea, but how big is it? A pint?
-
The blue bunny sugar free fat free ice cream isn't to bad. If you think about it, how good can sugar free and fat free be? But I like it.
-

Even when I was diabetic, that stuff just makes me want to :puke; It just doesn't taste right, like there's something missing......like fat and sugar to make it taste good! ;D
-
Huh maybe it has gotten better. Or maybe I just like grose food. *wink* Are you sure you tried Blue Bunny sugar free? Caues it really is pretty good.
-
Blue Bunny, Bryers, Deans, and the s/f fudgecicles :puke;
I can't stand the stuff, but can't stand sugar sodas/pops and drinks. I have to stick with s/f on that.
-
In the southern states people drink sugar in their ice tea and coffee. I want reak sugar in everything except ice tea and coffee.
-
I don't use sugar in anything. I drink my coffee black, I drink my tea without anything. If I drink soda I would rather have a diet one.
-
damn Bluebell or damn husband ???
you decide
my husband got two pints of fresh blackberries and he wants a blackberry cobbler
and we have Bluebell Vanilla Bean in the freezer
can I make a cobbler and not eat any of it
damn decisions
and Bluebell makes a Banana Pudding Ice Cream and it tastes just like you made a homemade banana pudding with meringue and you froze it :stressed;
-
that bananna pussing ice cream is pretty damned good. But use vanilla on the Blackberry cobbler. Damned husband.
-
I LOVE BLUE BELL VANILLA BEAN IT'S THE BEST!!!! sorry for the caps
-
If anything deserves caps it is BLUE BELL VANILLA BEAN.
They served it at the hospital last week (just vanilla) in 4 oz. cups. What's that about?
-
Last year or the year before that when Twirl told me they had banan ice cream, I saw they had blackberry cobbler ice cream at the time.
I need to travel to a state that has blue bell and the banana pudding ice cream!
-
I want some banana pudding ice cream! That sounds so so so so good. I love banana. Yummy. Chris I think you may just have good taste. Haha.
Oh I had some Cinnamon blue bell ice cream at cracker barrel yesterday.. It was the best!
-
Chris, come to Houston and I'll take you, not only to the state, but to the town where they make Blue Bell ice cream. They have tours and give samples too.....
-
we have been on the Blue Bell tour many years ago
and I have been told that the samples are no longer free -
hope it is wrong -
MandaMe -- the banana pudding Blue Bell has the vanilla wafers, bananas and meringue --
it is not banana pudding with cool whip -- it has to be baked with meringue --
-
and I have been told that the samples are no longer free -
That's probably because people like me would not leave and sample most flavors for hours :rofl; ;D

$3.00 for tour, but how much for a gallon of ice cream? Cuz taking a tour the whole day may not be cost effective to just get one little sample. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
-
it used to be free
and the tour does not take long at all
less than an hour
unless you watch the movie -- it is short
and you get one little scoop of ice cream in a small cup
unless you want to pay for more
it's all about the money
maybe Blue Bell is coming to California
we have ads where cow are asking to move to California
they sing and dance and audition
-
OMG what is happening to this world. Only one scoop? And a charge for the tour? Well, at least we could watch Bubba in practice while we were there....
-
No Blue Bell today folks. Brenham is flooding. I love those cows. Hope they are safe.
-
our pool is starting to run over :stressed;
-
And they want over $100 to ship 4 containers of ice cream :urcrazy; Why make 4 the minimum? Sell more to more people by lowering the minimum to at least 2. I can fit 2 in my fridge, not 4!
-
forget about that. you can get it on sale for 3.99.
Twirl, have a pool party tonight...
-
Yeah if it was sold near my home. Our main ice cream is Bryer's, Edy's, Dean's and the small specialty ones of Ben and Jerry, Hagen Daz. Hagen Daz is not all that great eitherfor the price they charge.
-
I'm sure that, in reality, its not as good as we Texans say... you know how we like to boast.
-
We have creamland here, its really good too... I want some mint chocolate chip ice cream...yeah
And Chris do you have a cracker barrel out there? They have blue bell ice cream, its a dollar a scoop though. But its worth it. :2thumbsup;
-
Chris I would gladly send you two gallons of Blue Bell
but, in this heat --- :waiting; how could I do it :stressed;
I can buy you two gallons for 6.00 -- it is on sale during the summer -
but how would I mail it and NO you can not pay be back
ever person unlucky enough to live outside of Blue Bell territory deserves at least two
gallons from a friend :waving;
-
where is it on for $3.00????
When I get my Lantus in the mail it coming in a little cooler with ice packs. I bet I could mail a half gallon in that/....
-
Yes we have a Cracker Barrel here, we had dinner there for our IHD meet last August. My luck though, they would not have the Banana ice cream.
Twirl, there lies in the problem. No idea how or where to get dry ice or would be awfully expencive to ship a container heavily filled with ice for next day shippment. Imagine the questions they would ask about what are you shipping and why ;D :rofl;
-
dw Kroger had them on sale 2 for $6.00 the dry ice is not expensive.. but twirl, Walmart has a bag that will keep it frozen for 24 hours i shipped my friend tamales to new york and she got them with no problems. i know it is different but just a thought to keep it frozen
-
but where do you buy dry ice?
-
cool dry ice can explode
Chris could be arrested :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
Chris it is banana pudding ice cream not just banana :bandance;
Chris if you get a package in the mail from Texas ------ call the bomb squad to get your ice cream out :o
-
You know what Fed Ex will ship dry ice. They have to pack it though, you take every thing and they do the packing. I can buy dry ice all over the place here, it gets to hot in the summer people buy dry ice to keep in coolers for games and stuff. Ice melts to fast. It will probably cost a lot though. I would call and ask them.
-

Is that before or after I drop some dry ice in 2 liter bottles to make them go BAM with a little water? :rofl; :rofl;
Banana Pudding is the same as banana ice cream to me as long as there are no nuts in it like Ben and Jerry's chunky monkey (could be set up for a bad joke with a name like that!)
-
Chris chunky monkey is the best ice cream ever! The nuts are the best part. I am gonna stay away from the many jokes. But it is very good ice cream. Yummy!
-
I'll get Chunky Monkey when it is on sale like 2 for or buy one get one free.. They are to small though to last long enough.
-
One will last me about a week if I eat it everyday.. A couple bites is all you need to get your fix
-

Either size will last less than a day. The chunky monkey = less than an hour. When I was younger and we moved close to a grocery store, I spent my chore money on a 1/2 gallon of ice cream, a brick back then and ate it before m parents got home. Got rid of the evidence, but felt like I would hurl, but want to do it again. Of course this was bad for being a diabetic, but didn't know at the time nor knew anything about adjusting for it. Now days, they encourage me to to eat ice cream because of the fluid content and having a k/p tx.

Wow that is a lot of ice cream to eat in one sitting. My little brother wants to eat a gallon of ice cream in one sitting. He dose this weird stuff all the time. Like eating this burrito here that is big enough to feed a family of 4 and I mean a family of 4 who can eat. Or drinking a gallon of milk at once (didn't go over to well) Haha. It usually ends with him :puke; and saying he isn't gonna eat ever again. Good fun to watch.
-
Yes, we have those burritos here and I have eaten them in one sitting when I was working. They are really good with melted cheese on top too. ;D
As for the milk, I think there is a biological reason that we would throw up drinking a gallon of milk or at least feel like :puke; (Nestlie Quick flavored milk it must be there)
-
Well if you can eat this burrito I will faint. I have never known anyone who can eat more then my little brother and Matthew and neither one of them ate it. It was so much food.
I really don't know how you should gain weight if you eat all the ice cream you want and lots of burritos. Hummm we will figure out a way.
-
I saw my aunt milking a cow when I was 4
I asked if that was where milk came from
that was the end of my milk drinking
:puke;
I also saw her cut a chicken's head off and it still ran around the yard but
do not touch my fried chicken !
:urcrazy;
then she gathered eggs and I wanted to know where eggs come from --
that was the end of my eating hard boiled eggs
:urcrazy;
now where the heck does pizza come from
:waiting;
-
from my oven so your good there :2thumbsup;
-

Before my transplant I could eat a lot and still have trouble gaining weight. When Burger King first started having Whoppers for 99 cents a friend bet me I couldn't eat the 3 I ordered. Told him I could eat more than that and bet him $50 on it. I ended up eating 9 and winning $50 bucks and still went out to a party.
Dialysis curved my eating a little because food was so dull with what I was told I could eat, but when I cheated, I cheated good. :2thumbsup;
Twirl, my mom use to cut the heads off chickens as a kid and now she can't cook them worth a darn. Well anything to be cooked as a matter of fact, but that could be a whole different problem and story. :rofl;
-

9 whoppers! Haha You wernt kidding. Is it a guy thing? My little brother ate 9 duble cheese bugars from Mcy D's (not nearly as good as whoppers though) just to do it one night after one of his football games. And he toped it off with two large fries and I don't know how many cokes.
And what is with guys eating food for money. I once new a guy who ate a cicada on a camping trip for 5 bucks.
-
Must be a guy thing, my son ate a huge grasshopper for 5 bucks during his stint in the Army. All of his Army buds thought he was WHACKED after that and didn't mess with him. Oh wait...he is a bit....well..off...he ate a damned grasshopper after all!!
-
Sounds like he takes after his momma.. :flower;
-
I would never!!! They might be high in potassium or sumptin! lol
-
I like Wenchhie's son.... for $5...? Do you blame him?
-
I night do it for 50 bucks but not 5
-
Hell, I'd eat a crawdad for $50
-
Mud bugs? I'll eat crawfish for free!!!!!
-
:bandance; :bandance;
-
Me too. I'd even pay for them. But why not get 50 if you can?
-
Never ate bugs and don't plan to either.
Made money at the bar to eating hot sauce. I miss eating hot and spicey food.
-
I drink hot sauce --- give me a bottle of it and a straw :beer1;
-
I drink hot sauce --- give me a bottle of it and a straw :beer1;
Sounds good to me (but probably not good for me)! ;)
-
I will sit down and eat just a bowl of red or green chili so I don't see how hot sause will be all that diffrent.
-
You people are nuts! Are the kidneys messing with you brains?
-
Well Dan isn't you who says "Soon we shall all be insane"?
-
I just ate avocado ice cream --- well, that Italian stuff and it was good but I will never order it again -
very green and I could tell they used real avocado in it
it was not Blue Bell
and they did not serve chips or hot sauce with it
-
I would try some avocado ice cream. I really like avocados. You just need to go in it with a open mind I think.
-
it was good
I remember when Baskin - Robbins had licorice ice cream -- it was so good
-
Sure that wasn't Pistatio Ice Cream? ???
Avacado Ice Cream :puke; , what's next, pickle ice cream? :puke;
-
Pastatio ice cream is the best, but no one makes it anymore. You can get it at cold stone. I like getting it with coconut and nuts. Yummy!
Like I said Chris you have to go at it with a open mind
-
Well I don't like avacado in the first place, so that rules that out. ;D
Forgot what brand make pistatio ice cream, will look the next time I am in that aisle.
-
it was avocado --- I could see some not mixed avocado in it
look like lime tasted like avocado
pickle ice cream -- I would try it unless it was butter and bread pickles --- the sweet ones
Blue Bell makes pistachio with almonds
-
Thanks Chirs, I can never find it.
-
I bought some blackberry cobbler blue bell today. Just a little tub to try. I like the blackberry part.. not fond of the bits of cobbler part.
-
why not just have a blackberry cobbler with vanilla bean on it? Heat the cobbler first.
-
why not just have a blackberry cobbler with vanilla bean on it? Heat the cobbler first.
Yum!
-
I do not like the little cobble pieces either
I had avacodo - that Italian ice cream stuff and it was good
the key lime pie blue bell would be better without the pieces of crust
-
oh no crust in ice cream in the best. I had a blizzard at DQ a few years back around Christmas. It was pumpkin pie and it had big chunks of pumpkin pie and crust it was so good!
-
I don't like junk in the ice cream. You get less Ice Cream that way. You can always eat Vanilla on top of anything.
-
Just flavor the fricken ice cream with the blackberries and leave the crust out. Not a fan of ice cream on top of a pie, they have to be eaten seperately to enjoy the flavor of each. Prefer ice cream over pie any day though.
-
No, fricken ice cream should not taste like fricken blackberries. It should taste like fricken ice cream.
-
I'll have to remember to get a blackberry milk shake from DQ tomorrow after I come home from the city if test come back ok.
-
What flavor is fricken ice cream?
-
:rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
-
Kitkarz, maybe fricken is like Moose Tracks :rofl;
-

-
Anyone see Dan? ??? I wasn't on much yesterday so I might have just missed him.
-
Hi manda. just around a little while. do you celebrate cinco de mayo or is that just in texas. I want enchiladas mole and marguaritas tonight.
-
Yeah in a couple hours we are gonna go see some mariachis and then gonna come home to some carna asada tacos, beans and rice. (I made all the food) I don't think I am gonna have any marguaritas though. I did pick up some mexican beer though.
-
MandaMe I pm'ed you about a fried pickle recipes so good
have a wonderful night and your foods sounds so good :bow;
-
Pico's Mex Mex [PicosBellaire@optemaxcorp.com]
Manday, take a look at the party email....especially little boy mariaches. I think they are his kids of grandkids.
-
It link didn't work Dan
Thanks Twirl I am gonna go get stuff to make them!
-
duh. it was an email...sorry
-
didn't work for me either
-
sorry... I don't know how to post and incoming email.
-
I just remembered years ago Albertson's had a spicy, hot flavored ice cream -
can't remember the brand but it was very spicy and I loved it -
then all the Albertson's went out of business
it was vanilla with hot spices
I know MandaMe1986 would have loved it --

I found this:
Hot Pepper Ice Cream
Spice up vanilla ice cream with cayenne pepper in this homemade ice cream recipe.
Recipe courtesy of chef Steve Corry
Ingredients:
12 ounces sugar
3 cups heavy cream
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 large vanilla bean, split and seeded
Preparation:
1. Combine all ingredients.
2. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
3. Chill overnight.
4. Churn in an ice cream machine.
-
Oh no, my favorite subject. That would be so good but do they still have the churn type ice cream machines?
-
Yes, they still have churn ice cream makers, Dan,
But we make ice cream here at school in zip lock bags!
We put enough mix in a small bag for one serving, then put that bag into a larger zip lock that has ice and salt. Then wearing gloves, knead the bags until the ice cream is ready. Quickly rinse the salt off the small bag and then eat right out of the bag!
This is a hit!!!!
