I find vegetable side dishes the most challenging. Without sauces, they just don't have an enjoyable combination of flavor and texture. Even with Mrs. Dash spices, they just aren't the same as I used to enjoy before I got ESRD.
What are some easy ways to bring out the flavor and texture of vegetable side dishes?

Sometimes I add lemon juice or white wine.

I usually add chopped onion slices just for flavor. I also add chopped garlic that always helps

Rightside I used to love Mrs. Dash before dialysis -- now, I hate her
Zach - I am afraid to use white wine -- I am afraid I'd drink it all
I use chicken ( low sodium ) chicken and beef broth.
my children like to dip fresh vegetable in ranch dressing -- not me
you can make some good hot sauces with fresh vegetables and fruit
find a website on the net where you can hide vegetables in recipes and you would never know the
vegetables were there
some of the recipes sound edible

twirl...I think it is half and half...half a cup of white wine in the vegetables and then drink a half cup...you always want to make sure there is some in the food.
I am sure flip would have had fun with this thread.

First get fresh veggies. More flavor, better taste. Grilling is good. Sauteeing garlic in Olive oil and then adding veggies like Zuccini, Asparagus, broccoli, Carrots, green beans, is all good.

For fresh green beans or brussel sprouts, I boil them first. Then in a little butter I saute onions until they're carmelized and almond slivers. Finally, toss the green beans in the pan. I love them this way. No salt needed.

Maybe that will help my eating habits, if I add a half a glass of wine with it all!
