Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around in a while.  It was an intresting couple of weeks. So you all know my dads kidneys gave out, and he started dialysis.  He is finally getting used to it I think, as much as you can. I think they have have all his dry and wet weight and stuff down. So that is good.  We did find out about 3 weeks ago that my dad had colon cancer, but by the luck of God we cought it right away.  So a little over a week ago he had a good part of his colon removed.  That was hard, the first couple of nights he was sure he wasn't gonna make it.  Nothing worse then watching your very strong father brake down. But he did get out of the hospital yesterday and is trying to get back to something somewhat normal.  We did find out though that his wife my step mother has to have a hysterecotomy now too because they found cancer cells in her aswell. So its been a hard couple of weeks.  My older brother came into town though. It was nice we haven't seen him in 3 years and my father really needed it.  The Sunday before he went into the hospital the whole family went to Mass, and that kinda put us all at some sort of peace of mind. That helped a lot.  I have been trying to make some time to get on here and let you know what was going on, just haven't found the time.  But hopefully I will be back more often again.

Alright so I am off to try and catch up some on everyones post.

You poor soul, I know just how hard it is to see your once strong Dad become weak and sick as I'm seeing it happen to mine  but, oh dear, all those other things too.  Sending love and prayers your way for better times to come. :grouphug;

I went through a family storm in June of '08.  It was rough.
Very rough.  Took a while to find peace of mind.  I'm glad

Hello, MandaMe.  It sounds as though you and your family have been through quite a lot recently.  I am glad to hear your dad's colon cancer was caught quickly and that he is making the adjustment to dialysis.

It was good talking with you in the chat room last night.   How is you Dad doing?  And your step mom?   Hope things start to get better.  :cuddle;
