Hi everyone, after reading so many posts, i decided to join the board. I am an actual medical biller specializing in dialysis billing and deal with all insurances including medicare and medicaid( this includes medicare and medicaid assigned plans). Some people may be confused about the billing process and I hope I could help ease people's concerns with such things as billed charges on your claims that can be almost $80,000 for a month. I cannot say the company I work for but am here to offer up advice to those who may need it or just want to understand it better.
I am on the phone daily with insurance companies as well as ensuring proper billing procedures for the dialysis centers that I manage.
I think it's important for the centers main concentration be on patient care and as a biller, to ensure patient's don't stress over billing issues.

I'll do what I can to help if someone needs it or point them into the right direction. I go to battle everyday for my patients and enjoy it. (I know who would enjoy calling insurance companies daily to argue?)

Excellent! :2thumbsup; It's good to have you on board. You know, they always say it's good to have a lawyer in the family. Well, I for one will welcome a biller to the family any day. We could use some insite...
Welcome!

:welcomesign; I don't live in the US and so do not deal with billing but your perspective and advice will be most welcome for those of our members who do. I look forward to knowing more about the system from your perspective.

:welcomesign; dialysisbiller. Glad you joined and I'm sure you will be getting loads of questions. My hubby was on dialysis for almost 6 years and underwent a transplant. That was a shocking bill to say the least. Hope we hear more from you. :cuddle;

Am I the only person here thinking that sick people ought not to have to deal with this crap on top of everything else. Thank God I live where I do. What a system.

Welcome to our community, dialysisbiller! I am very gratified that you would take the time out to show an interest in the patients' welfare (financially speaking) Like Monrein, I am not from the US so it would not apply to me, but I do appreciate your input. You are a great addition to all the different people we already have as part of our family :grouphug; patients (HD and PD), pre-dialysis, transplantees, donors, caregivers, loved ones, nurses, techs, doctors. So please keep posting.
Looking forward to hearing more from you

Welcome to the board, dialysisbiller. I am sure your perspective will be appreciated, and I think you might gain some insight from the patient's perspective as well.

I really do want to hear what it's like on the other side. I absolutely feel horrible when I get a denied claim and think 'the patient is going to freak if this bill isn't paid by the insurance' ... it motivates me, no one asked to be on dialysis yet here these people are, having to endure such a thing.
my heart goes out to all the patients.(even crabby ones, cos i'd be crabby too if it was me)
