Mom has been in the hospital for a month and only home 2 days. So far I have not been able to talk to the dietitian. The hospital gave me a list of things that she can not have but no help about what she can have.
We normally only eat two meals per day so I am trying to figure out what to fix for breakfast and dinner . I do not want to make a run to the store until I talk to the dietitian but the cupboards are getting a little empty. I hope you will be able to give me a few ideas to get us by till I get to talk to them. Any and all suggestions will be welcome.
What I know is that she is on low sodium, high protein, 1500 ml fluid and we do not need to worry too much about the two "Ps" for right now. I have been getting by with oatmeal, chicken breasts and frozen mixed veggies but I fear she is going to start refusing them real soon. :stressed;

For low sodium go get Mrs. Dash usually sold in the seasonings section. I like it on scrambled eggs instead of salt. Pepper is okay too. Get white bread, not whole wheat. Sara Lee Classic White is what I buy.
Breakfast.... scrambled eggs and toast with a half cup of coffee. :yahoo;
Snack ..... graham crackers with apple sauce.
Dinner..... Chicken and rice? or Hamburgers?
Call and order a six pack of Nepro. It is a protein drink low in the two P's and makes me feel full for hours. You can order a six pack to try it. I like the Butter Pecan. 1.800.986.8502. Have her drink it "cold" right out of the fridge; it tastes better that way.
Best of luck. :cuddle;
