to go with the sausage balls
velvetta cheese --- the big block
2 cans of rotel
chop up cheese and melt
add the cans of rotel and do not drain rotel unless you want a thicker dip
can eat with Mex chips and chopped lettuce and tomatoes
Kimmie -- I will send you cans of rotel :waving;

Oh Twirl, say it ain't so. :rofl;
-

I would be glad to send Kimmie cans of rotel with her box of grits

Twirl, we have the same party foods! We love Rotel dip. Made it at Christmas. We also make a similar one with equal parts velveta cheese, cream cheese and salsa. Pop it in the microwave and pass the chips!! :yahoo;
-
What in the world is rotel? Sorry if this has already been asked but I don't have a clue what it is. :waving;
I just had to add: I could eat that whole block of velvetta cheese by myself. Don't yell at me Zach, just telling the truth here. :rofl;
-
WandW---you are an honest woman!! :2thumbsup; :rofl;
-
Sounds Yummy! :yahoo;

I couldn't take it anymore and looked up rotel. I have no idea if it is carried in our stores but I will look. I bet it has seeds in it, doesn't it?
Ro*Tel is the brand name of a line of canned tomatoes and green chiles. There are different varieties of Ro*tel in varying degrees of hotness and spiciness. The brand was acquired by ConAgra Foods, Inc. in 2002. Ro*Tel gets its name from its inventor, Carl Roettele, who started a family canning company in Harlingen, Texas in the 1940's. It is commonly used in making chili con queso.

W&W - we can buy Rotel in Virginia, so I bet you can get it in Maryland.
-
:thx; Linda. I am going to look next time I go to the grocery store. :waving;
-
We used to do the same thing with Hormel chili instead of the Rotel. Sooooooo not good for you! And instead of velveta, use the canned Cheez whiz glop.
-
W&W
it does have seeds but strain the seeds
it is so worth it
just use a part of the can if you do not want it too hot
and you can also buy a mild can
if not, let me know and I will mail you a can of the mild
or hotter whatever you and Len and W&W can eat
( just give them a tiny lick)

I did not know what Rotel was until I married my hubby. He puts it in everything.. soup, meatloaf, stews.. That and ranch beans are practically in EVERYTHING he cooks. :puke;
-
rotel in beef stew--------- yummers
-
:2thumbsup;
My friend in Arkansas first told me about Rotel for making nachos.
We have so many different kinds of fresh and canned salsas in California that I had never heard of nor needed Rotel. But it's sure handy to have if you want to add a little spiciness to dishes.
-
PHEW! Found it!
-
rotel in beef stew--------- yummers
I think I would be with Mibarra on this one :puke;
I can do the taco thingy when I get my care package from Texas!

Paris....or whomever...yes it is in the stores here..I have used Rotel and Velveeta for dips for years...the year before D I made it for New Years and kept adding cream cheeze and seasoning...I don't even remember what all and when I served it all the people thought I had bought a crockpot of cheese dip from the local mexican resturant..now I wish I had written down what I used.
-
really, you add cream cheese
do you cut up the block of cream cheese and let it melt as it cooks
sounds interesting and creamy
some people cut up fresh toms and peppers instead of using the can rotel
are you standing in front of a trailer and were you on the travel station about trailers
-
We went on a train ride in the mountains and that was in front of the last car I believe. Yes, I just cut up the cream cheeze and added in in oh 1 inch sizes until it was like I wanted.
-
I couldn't mail lobster... sorry poor joke, but! we do have cans of fresh lobster , A very poor substitute
-
:yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo;
Kimmie that was funny
I could just see me getting a live lobster with those claws
and they hold claws with their young
and when they are cooked they cry

Let me just say----cream cheese and velveeta cheese mixed with anything is sooo yummy. :2thumbsup; I think it is a food group, right?
My daughter in law adds Jimmy Dean sausage to the rotel dip---it is like a whole meal on a tortilla chip!
