Title: Otto's feeling weird?
Post by: lola on January 25, 2009, 02:58:23 PM
For the last 5 days after he eats(hour or so) Otto starts to get a weird feeling in his hands legs and feet, he is thirsty ALL the time and he feels clammy. I went and bought a glucose meter thinking maybe diabetes but his sugars are normal. I know if I call they will say get him in but he says over his dead body. Any Ideas??????

this probably won't be of any help. but me (and remember i'm really not a very nice lady) i would tell him to just get in the car because it would do very little good to take his dead body to the doctor. sorry, i warned you it wouldn't be a very useful idea. try telling him all of ihd will worry terribly about him until he goes to the doctor and we find out what's going on. but we really do understand why he doesn't want to go. try reminding him "what you don't know, can and will kill you"  :grouphug; for you and the kids. hope you get this figured out.

I was hoping you found a better facility to take him to.

Is this with all foods? Or is it with certain foods?
Some things get me that way like certain juices, cranberry, grape, pineapple. But since this just started, it might be something else. Are there meds taken prior to eating or shortly after?

Nothing else is coming to mind right now. Hope you get some useful input and help lola.

Try to get him to go. Hopefully it is nothing serious. He has been through so much lately.

Tell him I'm on my way and when I get there, he"ll go!     ;)  I fully understand why he doesn't want to go but I would call anyway and get some medical advice. Tell them he refuses to come in and is there  anything else you can do to help him figure this out. Good Luck.

Or do like you do with a dog, don't tell them they are going to the doc, just act like it's a normal drive to somewhere and wham, to late your there.

OK so I started to become a CSI agent ;) and went thru his meds and noticed one of his BP meds was now at 50mg instead of 25mg and asked Otto WTF, his response OHHHHHHHHH I forgot to tell you they increased it. So when I goggled it his symptoms where all there :banghead; This is what happens when I don't hold his hand and go to every appt!!!! :banghead; I told him he needs to call 1st thing in the morning and talk to one of the nurses to let them know so they can figure something else to put him on as he gets kinda spacey also. Thanks guys once again :grouphug; :grouphug;

Good for you, Lola

My hubby was on a bp med
that also made him very spacey -

Dr took him off, it was too strong for
him

I wish ya luck getting that guy in to the Doc

Huh, what timing. Recently I've been feeling odd - kind of spacey, kind of like my limbs aren't working right. I first started feeling it occasionally a week or two after I switched BP meds, then it went away. Now I'm feeling it again, and more often, and guess what - I just recently doubled my BP meds. So maybe that's the cause.
