Title: Grant $$ for those with kidney failure
Post by: pelagia on January 13, 2009, 08:15:18 AM
Has this site been posted on IHD before?

http://www.kidneyfund.org/patient-grants/

The American Kidney Fund awards grants that help dialysis patients with health insurance premiums, Medicare Part D expenses, and treatment-related expenses that insurance will not cover.  A social worker should be able to help with the application process.

It's a good reminder. Was posted here http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=9356.0 but I don't think anyone has benefited that I know of.

much of what they cover i have coverage for because i have medicaid. however i have gotten money for groceries from them twice. i never can remember if eligibility is once every 6 months or once a year. your social worker should have all the information. you tell them which store you shop at, safeway etc and you get a check made out to the store for $100.  every little bit helps. i use it to stuff the freezer with meat.

That's fantastic! I had forgotten all about that. I will probably need that sooner than later.
