While I had my transplant, my hair grew like crazy EVERYWHERE as a result of the meds. However, since I have been on dialysis my hair is falling out. I find it everywhere all over the place. I asked my dr last night about it and he said it is from the uremic acid in my body that I had while I was sick. He said this will go away as I continue dialysis and further clean my blood. I thought it may be due to all my bp meds I am on. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what could be happening??? Please help!! Thanks all

Also make sure your iron level is normal.

Remember, the hair GORWTH you had while transplanted was abnormal.. You are probably no longer taking rejection meds, so this hair is falling out. You will get back to a normal growth and loss rate. You'll end up with pretransplant hair. :thumbup;

I've lost a third to a half of the hair I had during transplant. It grew because of Cyclosporine and now there's lots of new hair growth but nothing like before. I find hair everywhere I've been.

Len lost a lot of his hair while on dialysis because he wasn't getting the nourishment that he needed. When he got his transplant it was even worse. When they stopped the Cellept and started on a Zinc supplement it has grown back but is totally different then it use to be. Ask them to check your labs carefully, the answer is there somewhere. :waving;

I have had hair loss since this whole process started. Also my nails are not nice like they use to be; they are all split and soft. Neph says it is all due to nutrition, medications, and my numbers. I just know that I don't like it!
