So yesterday morning (Nov. 27) I had surgery to create a fistula. This time in my right arm. So because of my clotting issues I've been put on blood thinners. 3 for now. Dalteparin, Warafrin and well Aspirin as well to help, but I should be coming off the Dalteparin soon.
So I went into this hopeful but cautious because the first fistula created clotted off by the time I got up to recovery :'. But I am happy to say that it worked this time. :cheer: :bandance; I got a nice bruit. So now I'm hoping my line will work until the fistula is mature enough to use, and when it is to get the button holes established. I can't stand being poked with needles going into my veins, so the button hole technique is perfect for me. Providing they can use it on my fistula *crosses fingers*. So I guess I'll have to wait for the new year to find out.
A quick question before I go, Is it normal to be able to hear my fistula at times without the use of a stethescope?
:yahoo;

Let's hope this one lasts for a long long time. I think you could probably hear a really good fistula. I can hear mine when I put my head on my shoulder. You have been through a lot so I hope things go great for you from now on.
:waving;

Yes! When mine is going full blast (sadly, it hasn't been @ all times since wednesday :'( ), I can hear it thru pillows! Mine is very superficial though. Crazy feeling I know, but weird when it's not there (which I also know... :'( )

Yes, I can hear mine but the weird thing is I can feel it without touching my skin ???

wow Jess...I AM impressed. :bow;

All I need to hear mine is an ear. No steth required at all.
Hope yours matures well and lasts as long as you need it. :cuddle;

when mine was working properly,
the thrill used to put me asleep

i can understand about the thrill putting you to sleep. i heard mine last night (through my pillow) and it's oddly a very calming kinda tranquil sound. helped put me to sleep to. which is a little weird. :rofl;
