Title: Yet another question (thx for being pateint)
Post by: paul.karen on October 16, 2008, 12:29:45 PM
I have had cramps in my muscles before.  And they are so painful.

But a few nights ago.  I had a cramp in my BONE (no)  my shin bone.  At least it felt like it was in my bone.  I almost cried it hurt so bad.  And i have a very high threshold for pain.  In the front of my legs there is barly any muscle there to cramp. So can or do bones cramp??  or am i just losing my mind.

And ill be honest.  My doctor did give me some pills (samples).  he said they may prevent cramping. :oops;
Well i dont like meds.  Im taking enough of them so i figured i didnt need them. :Kit n Stik;

I am now taking them and have not had these cramps since.  And before you ask.  Im not sure what they are called.  Im at work i can find out once i get home......

oh yes...cramps in places you don't have cramps....I'm sure we all have and they are not fun.  Sometimes taking something helps....I really want to try some of flips recipies instead of those cramp pills...I'm just not sure what to ask for in the liquor store   :beer1;

They may be quinine tablets. Quinine is also found in tonic water.

I think I have finally perfected my after dialysis drink. It's fairly expensive but you only need one.

I posted the recipe for vodka and Red Bull a couple of days ago but I left off one the the ingredients.

1 oz. vodka
1 small can Red Bull (sugar free if you desire)
1 1oz. packet Pro-Stat liquid protein supplement (cherry flavor)

If you diabetic, you may want to leave out the vodka. For the record, my dietition does approve.

Vodka is fine for diabetics, no carbs at all.  Happy Drinking  :beer1;

Paul,
Did you ever find out the name of the med for cramps?

They don't recommend quinine anymore.

My doctor gave me magnesium for cramps - works great.  Don't know if that is something you can take, but it beats having to take meds.
